Meh, I might actually tune in for the first half hour. It'll be fun to watch Sailor Moon again on tv with whatever stupid commercials pop up like in the good ol' days even if I already own the entire series.

I just made an entire flock of starlings flee for their lives by belching.

We actually have this for our weather here too. Complete with 'f*ck this shit, I'm out' flying trash can graphic when applicable. For general cold not affiliated with killer wind chills we have the Coffee Cup meter - different sizes depending on how badly you'll need that hand warmer.

Couldn't see the aura borealis but can smell Canada being on fire already. -
It was Las Vegas but I'm not sure which exact resort it was. Dana Snyder is actually originally from there so if he's feeling feisty enough to answer the question, you might be able to ask him if he either remembers that particular bump or show him the pic and see if he recognizes the pool background from previous stays.

Classes I didn't really need for my major but wanted to take? Sci-Fi and Fantasy and British Lit. Major English courses with about 10 books to read in each. I'm a reader so those classes were like study hall for me. With tests. That said 'Tristram Shandy' can burn in infinite hell. Religious Anthropology. The study of religious beliefs excluding the usual suspects. Would have been more interesting but the professor had a real hardon for Siberian Shamanism and there was nothing on Eastern beliefs at all. Classes I had to take because they fulfilled some random quota but I should have been able to skip? English 101. Shit course, required you to write 'questions' in the margins of the overpriced essay book which meant you couldn't sell it back at the end of the semester. Was the one that also required an essay about a parent [ I was out of foster care and freshly emancipated ] with zero alternative projects for people in my position. I bullshitted my way through it by recapping the show 'M.A.S.H.' Health and Wellness. Apparently my archery and judo credits didn't count towards the university's graduation so I had to take this crap class. By the end of the semester I had 127% and slept through most of it.

~$25. That's the cost of one bottle of powdered Miralax and two bottles of Gatorade. It WILL scare the pure concentrated evil right out of you. -
*goes to print something because all the electronics in my home have learned to fear me...

Watamote - No Matter How I Look At It, It's Your Guys Fault I'm Not Popular = Crunchy. Slice of life weird school girl life. One season and a special. How Heavy Are The Dumbbells You Lift? = Crunchy. Educational health and fitness anime that is just f-ing hilarious. 12 episodes. Bakumon = Crunchy. 3 seasons. Slice of life type where 2 school friends decide to become manga artists. Actually fairly 'real life' as far as a story goes because they don't make all their dreams come true immediately, crap does happen and they have to learn new skills and new ways of doing things in order to succeed.

I never even got an invite to my 20th. I remember the 10th one though. Everyone got fat and I was the only sober person the entire weekend.

You'll click it for the weird little alien musclemen in their Chippendale collars, that's why! And yes, I have no idea why it takes literally 15 minutes for a payment to be processed but a week to get a refund. It should be the equivalent of a reversed charge. Don't be a putz about it. -

I found out yesterday that one of my favorite old stores is going to close for good June. Since I know I won't likely get back there for any last minute sales, I went today. Artisanal soaps, tea, a pair of socks with a swear on them, cat nip toys, a pack of sandalwood incense that my friend's apartment used to smell like. One last sit in the wooden booth in the back - it was the last place we all gathered together in one spot. One married [ but at least still lives in the area, our schedules just conflict ], one went to Canada to be treated for mental illness properly and without going into debt, one went crazy period, and one died. I feel like I'm the only one left in the group and now even the places we hung out are going to be gone. Already feeling miserable, I wanted to grab McD's on the way home only to find out that that particular McD's has been torn down and is now an empty lot. So tired of soup. I wanted medicinal fries. -
This is a novel take on it. But I would say its probably more of a trope in general than a rip-off. Kid has supernatural problem, kid goes to special school, has special friends with similar supernatural conditions, battles happen, everyone gets stronger over time. Holy crap, I just described 'Sailor Moon' for the most part. Itidori intentionally sealed the demon inside himself on impulse and remains aware of the demon's presence pretty much all the time. He isn't questing to be the greatest sorcerer ever, he's just staying alive long enough to digest all the until now indestructible fingers. Once he ingests the last one, Sakuna can finally be killed because Itidori will be executed. He isn't going to be hokagi. He won't even get to be a teacher at the school if things go the way they need to. As for there being only two people he constantly hangs out with, its because there are only two people in his 'class' at the time he's enrolled. As you watch more of it, you'll see him hanging out with other people in other classes/schools but the general thing is that there aren't a ton of people with the natural ability to be Jujitsu Sorcerers. You either have to have cursed energy, be able to handle cursed energy through objects, or be a curse user. However, you shouldn't be able to create curses yourself because that's a purely human thing. So there's only three kids in that 'class' and Gojo is the only one strong enough to smack down Sakuna if he manages to take over briefly after any finger foods. <.< >.> I've watched all the episodes so far as well as the movie and just recently finished #22...

I do because my cable and internet are the same damn thing. Plus, I do like the idea of having to look forward to something I enjoy watching once a week. I'll hunt down other things through other means, but I'll stay up for at least a few shows every Saturday night.

...were you the cashier at the gas station last night? O.O Because that's exactly what happened in the gas station last night. I hate that my back hurt-hurts. Like I threw it out of whack or something and have no idea how to throw it back. -
I think we only have the Plains version of the noisy bug around here. They are an every year type thing so probably won't get any louder than usual.

Damn Atlantic flying whales. Bet they didn't know about the snipers on Liberty Island!

Venture Brothers might have helped with the attitude a bit in that that show also has progression. It definitely helps that whatever deal was made regarding R&M it included mass quantities of merch that could be tossed out at Cons, on 'As Seen On [ as ]' and Hot Topic. He also hasn't been there for the more recent turns which included all this previous season's loose end tie-ups and we don't know if he would have killed the show completely after the firing. As far as the new normal is, R&M lives as long as whoever it is that owns things now can make some money from it. And as much as it hurts to say, as long as it's bringing in that money, other projects may get to live that might otherwise get axed just because someone like Zaslav is looking for another tax write-off. It's been so long since I watched Deadman that I've got the mangas more on the surface of my mind than that season. But I thought [ I could be remembering wrong ] that it ended in a way that wouldn't necessarily require much in the way of doing anything to continue it. I 'think' the people who needed to escape escaped and those that needed to stay stayed in the show. But I wouldn't be offended if it got the FMA: Brotherhood treatment either and ended up being completely redone but with the same animation/artwork.

The problem with Lazzo is that he always seemed to want that 'Simpsons' type series - a comedy that can be watched in almost any episode order, everything starts and ends with that particular episode, and there's no need to worry about things getting 'heavy' or having continuity issues potentially pop up because the continuity is literally its always the same characters in every episode and that's pretty much it. The moment something he had personally labeled as pure comedy started to have a more serious undercurrent and stories that built on previous stories, he would have an allergic reaction. At least 'Moral Orel' got to have its final albeit truncated season to finish up Orel's story but 'Metalocalypse' got the Viacom treatment [ we own the IP and are going to sit on it forever until everything about it is dated and dead and there's nothing you can do about it so nah ] and could have been unended forever. On the other hand, DeMarco seems willing to slap his name on anything he sees as artistic even if it only manages to survive a single confusing season. Someone get him to tackle the remains of 'Deadman Wonderland'.
