I learned how to make it in a kitchen, so I'll bet the butter was clarified as it was sitting in a metal pan next to the flat top. Clarified butter has a shelf life of forever give or take a week, so it makes sense in that regard, but I've never noticed a real difference with my being lazy about not clarifying it. I do admit to cheating though by adding 1/16 tsp of mustard powder to my hollandaise to help prevent breaking. I also don't use a double-boiler, I make it in a saucier over direct heat. (Yeah, I'm pretty much a lost cause, but at least I don't add heavy cream )

So, I got a dirty look and scolded by a friend because I made Hollandaise with regular (albeit unsalted) butter instead of clarifying it. Just curious what you think, because she insisted that I change my heathen ways.

Well, success can lead to pride, and that is never a good thing. The chemistry though that was obviously present in the first and second games is perhaps a bit too high a bar to match. I just hate to see a really good story slowly descend into mediocrity. Just about any major producer these days can create a visually great game, for me it comes down to story and that intangible ability to draw in and immerse the player. That's kind of why I like older games, they didn't have fancy graphics so they had to be good in terms of story. I was going to shell out the cash for an XB1, but I'd rather get the NES Classic and SNES. The games are just more fun. Soul Calibur 6 though.... I'm a fan of that franchise, but it has gotten lame in terms of the story the last few versions.

You keep saying there is no demand for FLCL sequel, and I keep seeing above average P18-34 share.... So, which is it?

That's a shame to hear. If it isn't broke, don't fix it, particularly when it comes to a known smash hit title/franchise like Halo.

I thought most of Bungie went over to 343. As long as they don't fuck up the story. Just randomly shooting stuff (Doom, Gears of War) is okay the first time, but a good story is key for me. The first three in the franchise were great in terms of story. After that, kind of eh, the whole Cortana heel turn thing is pretty weak IMO, but maybe it can be salvaged. The trailer is really just a promo for the Slipstream Engine though.....
