They xray them in Japan to try to produce seedless watermelon. I think they also measure sugar content that way, but don't hold me to it. Honestly I just wanted to see if Viper would try to hax up an X-ray machine from a YT vid to try and get a l33t watermelon.

You have to X-ray it to determine optimal sugar content before harvesting.

The watermelon around here is terrible. No flavor at all. Gotta wait for the local growers to get their crops in, sorry.
