wife has a nice collection of evp recordings from her various ghost hunts. i went with them once to a graveyard and i'm sure i witnessed a glowing green mist/blob rise up from one of the tombstones and hover over the graveyard for a good minute before it disappeared. and my wife is convinced our house is haunted by the ghost of the disabled girl who used to live there 40 years ago with her parents. lots of other stuff, but i'm not gonna bore everyone.

works at "mom" lol like you're some kind of superhero.

icarus quit everything after the last election.

i crossed paths with her on fb at one point, but she either deleted her account or it went away some time after the hospital stay. never heard from her again.

i was confident we'd get through this cold snap without any freezing issues. looks like i was wrong. just got done cleaning up a water leak that originated somewhere in the upstairs bathroom. found it because a closet downstairs had water spilling out from under the door and into the kids' playroom. so now i have the water turned off (to the whole house because there's no shutoff for just the upstairs bathroom...fucking old plumbing), and it's gonna have to stay that way until i can get a plumber here (hopefully) tomorrow, if they're not already booked up with other similar problems. normally i'd try to track down the leak, but it's somewhere under the floor in that upstairs bathroom. i'm confident it's the sink drain, but it's possible that a supply line froze up as well. but then again, the bathtub drain likes to freeze in super cold weather, so it could be stemming from that as well. at any rate, its likely going to require tearing up the floor and doing some exploring. oh, did i mention i can't turn the water off completely? the lines and shutoff valves are so old, they're limed/rusted up to the point where valves don't shut completely. so i have to keep the sink in the kitchen opened up, just in case the leak is from a supply line upstairs. i've actually been looking forward to the day when i could afford to tear out every last water line in this house and reinstall them all from scratch. it's possible we'll be doing that before we can afford it.

i disagree. -5F with no wind hurts after a few minutes. -5F with 20mph wind hurts after a few seconds.

read the fucking op. then read it again. find the place where i pretended it was a good video. and if you can't find that place, make sure to leave the thread. k? k.
-
it hasn't been above 40 degrees here for like 2+ weeks.
-
good thing i'm not pretending i'm the best at it then, right?
-
it's -2 here. just got a text from my mom a few hours north of here. they're hanging tough at -24 right now with a projected low of -30 overnight. their pipes are freezing up and all that fun shit. no thx!

i was a little freaked out. don't care how cold it is outside, that was a pot of boiling water and i didn't want to spill it on myself. for as big as the ice cloud was, a lot more of it hit the ground as *hot* water afterwards.
-
just did a thing on video for the boy because he's a science nerd right now. currently -2F and that's apparently cold enough. sorry about the potato quality, and also wifey didn't keep the ice stuff in frame for shit (i informed her of this after the fact and now she's salty about it, wtf ever). but it worked, so enjoy.

i'd love to see what qualifies as "retarded" in your opinion, considering your apparently vast knowledge of the affliction.

this. my sister homeschools one of her three kids because she's always traveling for gymnastics. doesn't make her any smarter or dumber than her siblings.
-
gifted classes were a spectacular mismanagement of time for children assumed to be of higher intelligence. there, i said it.
-
and yet none of that implies any significant level of above-average intelligence in you. which is the entire premise of your insertion of yourself into this thread. lol, sit down.

...burn?

ooh, do me next.

my parents woke up to -30F with a windchill of -56F. might get even colder tonight, but with less wind. we're struggling to make any gains on our low of -17F at 8am. house was noisy when that wind started around 2am. furnace kept up just fine, but with forced air heat, it wasn't keeping anything warm besides the air. objects (floors, furniture, FUCKING TOILET SEAT) were a good 10-20 degrees colder than the air due to radational cooling. but we're on the downhill side now, as the wind is supposed to lighten up over the next few hours.

i guess one could label it as pity, but not the pity one would feel toward an invalid or a homeless person. it's more a feeling of embarrassment, really. i'm embarrassed for her, when she attempts to justify her shitty opinions with even shittier arguments. it's almost hard to watch. then add on top, the constant projections of weakness or inadequacy she's always lumping onto everyone around her. i couldn't take it if i was such a miserable person all the time.
-
hey, it's proof she was enrolled. and being enrolled in some tiny ass regional uni = smartest mofo in the entire thread, obv.
-
guys. GUYS. i totally made it into the first round of regionals in the 1993 spelling bee. i'm smarter than all ya'll idiots lolol.

because bipolar? maybe, could just be a sympathy bit. self-esteem lower than packard's IQ? probably.
