absolutely. we just had to enter the scene at the top of the tax rate charts.
-
that pre-roll was .75g and it was $18. jack herer strain, which means pretty much nothing to me.
-
testify wife thought about going after a medical card for lady reasons. i'm all for it, because then i don't have to spend so much on this common man's "legal" weed.
-
ngl, legal weed really isn't all its cracked up to be. the state went legal on 1/1/20 and for a couple months people went ape shit. both because it was finally legal, and also because it was so god damned expensive. the tax rate approaches 40%, which is just insane. for that price, i can afford to go top shelf with my local guy.

wife and i had some time to kill the other day so we went to a nearby dispensary. gotta say, i feel so super hip and cool, going into a well-lit, clean, pleasant-smelling store, and chatting up one of the budtenders (cringe) to discuss the finer points of thc consumption. never mind that a single j ("pre-roll" if you use the lingo) of some random shake costs $18, or a tin of 20 mints or gummies runs $40. i was hoping $100 would net me something a little more ... substantive ... than that. oh well, at least my budtender wasn't a 50+yo obvious barfly who found new work doing something she was previously used to doing in the alley for a quarter of the price (plus a cheap beej if she's in the mood). wait, yes, she was totally that person. but at least the mints are alright.

well it was on 4/20 so pat was probably just pushing all the buttons in a blur. you know how that guy gets...
-
so the state gaming board thinks i'm gonna let them install their own video surveillance system inside my bar to watch their slot machines. looks like i'll be missing that income as well before too long. ugh.

Things that almost everyone has in their fridge
wacky1980 replied to Swimmod_Luna's topic in Free-For-All
dunno man. i love me my induction cooktop. anyways, something in everyone's fridge...how about salad dressing. yeah, a bottle of dressing that's 3 years past date because it only got used that one time when you tried to get into making decent salads at home, but ended up only making one salad and everything spoiled after that and was thrown out, except for that fucking italian dressing that's separated into dirt and oil inside the jar. -
well i was thinking more along the lines of emotional abuse, but i'll take one for the team today.
-
i'll take a couple dings in the warning department if it will bring mid back online. just let me know which mod i need to emotionally abuse in order to make it happen.
-
i was conceived in the 70's, so i claim that decade.

uh-oh... you got the bug now. may as well add ingredients and equipment to the monthly budget for the next couple years. also, congratulations on a great first (and second) brew! -
never bought a mac, because i don't enjoy giving all my money away at once. although i will gladly build a windows PC for $1200, and edit the fuck outta some media and play all the games. we have a pack of ipads running wild through the house though. the boys have a lot easier time with them than they do android tabs because it's harder to screw up an ipad by being curious and poking around in settings.

picked up a nail in one of the truck tires last night. they're worn enough that i've been thinking about getting another set of 4 for the last few months. i guess now's the fucking time to do that. they're expensive as hell because of course they are, so i'm gonna try to find a used set first. anyone got an extra set of 285 75R 16s laying around they wanna unload?

wife and kids are raising monarch butterflies...well, wife's aunt is raising them in her garden, and she gave the boys a few caterpillars to raise at our house. they found a pile of eggs at the in-laws, and wife's aunt always collects the eggs every summer, raises the caterpillars, and then releases the butterflies after they break out of their chrysalis. it gives them a greater survival rate than growing in the wild, and the kids get a good free science experiment out of it as well. yes, that's poop to the right. these things eat milkweed like mad, and poop what i can only assume is their entire body weight in shit every day. it's like, almost disturbing how much they poop.

i've yet to ever name a beer i made, beyond a descriptive label. "Azacca SMaSH IPA" is how i refer to this one, because it uses azacca hops, it's a Single Malt and Single Hop recipe, and the style is IPA. very clever, i know. i do have a portfolio of names and concept art for the beers i'll eventually develop when i launch a brewery. not sure if any will survive til that day though. -

I think if it was growing bacteria, you'd see significant growth / spread. Mold would look fuzzy. From what I can tell, this just looks like foam. My guess is it's probably fine. But I'm also not a mead guy so I don't necessarily know what kinds of infections might show up. -

It's hard to say. Krausen is some pretty nasty-looking shit, and it could also just be off-gassing of ingredients or yeast. Has it grown since this pic, or fallen back in? I kegged up my baby IPA on I think Friday. I was not pleased with the product because there was a horrible off-flavor that I assumed at the time was the result of blow-off contamination. Regardless, I kegged it and carbed it and left it in the fridge. Just took the first pull from the keg tonight... It's still off, but much improved. Tastes a little buttery and has an odd aroma that I can't quite pin down...kinda like medicine. But the nastiness from a few days ago has faded off almost entirely. Clarity is decent for a non-filtered IPA, and it's carbed almost perfectly. Burps taste like IPA burps, so that's good. At this point, another week of age might just clean it up the rest of the way. I'm actually almost satisfied, all things considered, with our first batch on this tiny stovetop brewery. I ordered a new fermenter and upgraded a couple pieces. Should have it all in by the weekend. I guess we'll have to try it again and see if it comes out better on round 2... forgot to add final stats on the beer: abv: 7.8% (est) ibu: 48 srm: 8.6 -

This usually, but I think the last pair I bought were actually 11s. -
there's one of them across the street, now that you mention it ... shit.
