even in-character, i'm not sure she'd be ok with reading some of early's lines. it would be interesting if she made it like 5 minutes in and then just went off-script and the screen froze, then cut to her in the studio tossing the script on the floor and making some remarks about how she can't even pretend to be so backwards or whatnot. and then the new voice actor shows up, picks up the script, and the animation picks up where it left off with the new voice actor in place for early. and not another word is ever said about it.

yes. i just got the oldest his own phone about 2 months ago, and he already managed to crack the screen protector last week. i spent $300 on that phone (discontinued pixel 3a) and he knows if he breaks it, he's shelling out some cash from his own savings to fix or replace it. i did buy the protection at $6/mo so it will only cost him $75 for a repair/replacement. gotta make it sting a bit, but not completely drain his savings account in the process.

i hate showering in this house. everything's old. rust and lime scales off and ends up in the bottom of the tub. the water heater is 2 stories away and takes forever to push hot water all the way upstairs. i'm in and out as fast as humanly possible. and even then, there's rarely enough hot water for two back-to-back showers.

finally a little good news. this afternoon, i received notice that we're being awarded one of the grants i applied for. it's the smaller, lottery-based grant, but every little chunk helps. at least now we should be able to catch up on all our outstanding bills. the need-based one still hasn't popped. i did find someone inside that particular office who was willing to discuss the situation. she said we missed the cutoff for round 2 consideration (even though we submitted while round 1 was still open), so our application is still technically "under review" and we still have a chance at getting it, as long as the fund doesn't deplete before our application gets a decision. i sure hope the receipt of the small grant doesn't affect our eligibility for the bigger one...
