I took the ancestry test around 2 years or so ago, and originally it said I was between 50-60% England and Wales, and around 30 something percent german. But then last year my results were updated, apparently as time goes on the communities they get samples from increases which allows them to refine and update results. The last time my results updated I went up to 63% england and wales, and the germanic went down to like 14%, and then Ireland & Scotland rose to 14%. And then just yesterday my results updated again, to where the german part is gone completely, and I have mostly English/Welsh blood now. I do think this is more accurate considering the last names of all 4 of my biological grandparents. On my dad's side their last name comes from England and also Wales, with his mom's last name it comes from England & Scotland. On my mom's side, she was adopted but her dad's last name is Sevier and is English, also interesting story about that, I was matched up on the site with a lady that's my mom's 1st cousin, her giving me the story on the family, and apparently we're related to the first governor of Tennessee. As for her mom though, her last name is Nordic I believe, so that explains the Swedish and Finland part.

Like I said, Nintendo and GF knows they're sitting on an IP worth over a billion, and whatever they put out will sell in high volume. I know more people now than before are calling them out on selling two versions of the same $50 game. That's been something people have gripped about for a long time, that didn't bother me too much in the old days, but it really is just a way they can milk more money out of consumers, since they know full well there's a large source of people that will gladly buy both versions. And I'd imagine GF is already working on the next pkmn game for Q3 2020, so I imagine that one would just be a refinement of what they made with S&S, so it likely won't be until the pkmn game of 2021 before we see if they've learned from their mistakes and give the fans what they want

In the past 7 years or so that I've been working I've always had Christmas off. And now with my current job I get a bunch of days on Christmas week, plus new years eve and day off. That said though, I was pretty damn bored on Christmas day last year, I ended up going to theaters with a buddy of mine to watch The Mule

Then there's Nintendo and GF bastardizing the franchise by trying to cater to those that were obsessed with playing pkmn Go, but were never really into the series by bringing over the gimmick of throwing balls at wild pkmn, removing all wild encounters, and as one of my friends whose been a life long Nintendo and pkmn fan has said, the Let's Go games were essentially "Babies first Pokemon game" with how much they dumbed it down. Just about every game after BW2 he despises. There's also how the new game is carrying over the thing from LGE&P, where you the PC serves no purpose cause now you can just change your party on the fly, anywhere. And with the show they still haven't learned that people are tired of seeing Ash Ketchum in every new iteration of the series. With the new series and him being partnered up with another boy, Go they named him, instead of Pokedex's it's looking like they'll be carrying cell phones now. Some see the whole dual character dynamic they're going for as testing the waters to see if they can continue the series without Ash being the focus character. Honestly with Ash I would have been alright with him sticking around if they finally aged him up. One Piece and many other franchises have proven that you can do a time skip and still be successful. It makes the league victory he finally managed to acquire feel pointless since he's sent out on another journey, immediately after. I think it would have been better if they did like a 2-3 year or even longer time skip, having Ash be at least 13 or 14, showing that he's matured and become a much stronger trainer during that time. They could play up the angle of it being Ash's final adventure, at the end of which it comes down to him vs Go in the last round of the pkmn league and Go wins, Ash using that as a send off. I mean, they could still go that route of having Ash and Go be the final contestants in the league, but I feel it would just cheapen his win in Alola to lose the immediate next league, and for him to leave the series after that. To be fair though, I don't even give a shit. I used to be a huge fan of the pkmn games and the show but have given up on it long ago. I owned all the games up until Ruby & Sapphire, I played one of the games in the D&P gen, I played through a rom of Soul Silver on my phone, I played a rom of the 1st Black, XY was the first one I bought in a long time when it came out, I played through it in no time at all and ended up either selling it on ebay or giving it to my nephew. I actually really liked ORAS since gen 3 was my favorite one, but I never finished it, and either sold it or gave it away. S&M I didn't like at all and gave to my nephew for his birthday. Never played Ultra, and I'm on the fence about this new one. I want to see what they did with the series, it being the first one on the Switch, but I don't want to support it.

Going along with my post and the possibility of siding with the villains of the region, it could change the narrative, like instead of it being a usual case where gym leaders are nice and friendly to you, they're pitted against you as an enemy, them trying to stop you. As for personal friends of your character it could be a thing where whichever path you choose also affects who stays loyal to you, and who is out to stop you.

the problem is, GF is sitting on a franchise that's worth at least a billion dollars, and they know full well that any game they release in the main series will sell in high volume, so they have no reason to innovate or do something different, and instead it's making them more lazy. It'd be so much more if they were to give the pkmn games the Persona 5 treatment like they did with Fire Emblem Three Houses, having a more character driven story, with multiple ways to play the game. Like instead of going through all 8 gyms and then the league, like you do in quite literally every pkmn game before it (save Sun&Moon, which still ended with league battles) maybe your character could choose to side with and work with the villains of the region, there being a good and bad playthrough of the game.

Stories about people, things, and so on that grind your gears. Really just made this thread to share a story about one of the guys at my work place that's a major piece of shit. Story time. My job is union, and there's this one guy that's such a fucking joke, he's been out on workman's comp for 5 years and is never coming back. It being a case where he claims he's in intense pain, saying things like "it's like having acid poured down my back, I just learned to live with the pain". It really pisses me off cause technically I'm not considered hired, I have to wait for a full time position to open up before I can get hired and be part of the union (which finally looks to be happening within the next month), and you have this guy claiming to be too hurt to work, but then streams himself on facebook going to Metallica concerts, or going on trips to other states, (here in Illinois it's pretty much a case where the govt doesn't seem to care about cracking down on people exploiting workman's comp). Apparently it's a case where we have to hold a position for him because of that, "in case he comes back" for around two and a half years, and our previous boss made the mistake of letting him come back to work over 2 years ago, him coming back to work with a walker, doing the job for 45 minutes before leaving, saying he's in too much pain to work, him going out for another 2+ years. It really pisses me off since I've worked with many guys that have been sticking it out and putting in a lot of time and effort to get a full time job, and because of that asshole, that's robbing someone of a job. The only good thing about all this is our new boss is putting his foot down on that, him going through proceedings to fill his position, saying that his new cut off day is coming up in the next month or so, and he's not making the same mistake our previous boss made by letting him come back.

back when I was in high school there was this one black friend of mine named Donnell, and when it came to him he loved hearing racist jokes, him finding them funny. that said though, I think he was dealing with depression back then, he'd have days where he'd be full on energy, but many days where he acts drained, physically and emotionally. there was one time he was talking about where things went wrong for him, saying "my first mistake was that I was born black, my second is that i was born from rape" it being a thing where before he was born his dad raped his mom and his sister. i feel for him, i think he ended up dropping out after sophomore year, i've seen his grades and he was getting all F's and one or two D's.

I live on somewhat rural land, there only being 2 other houses within 300-400ft~ of mine. When it comes to cooling, simply put we've been fucked over on that for years. We used to have around 4 big tall trees that gave our house much shade, that helped with cooling our house but within the first 10 years of us all living here they all died (because back in the early 90's when there was major flooding apparently that caused those trees to die a lot sooner than they should have). Without that, our house was essentially just sitting in an open field, baking under the sun. It didn't help that even when our central air did work the unit itself was too small to adequately cool the whole house. For years now we've had to run around 4 window air conditioners to cool the place down, which means during late spring and summer time our power bill gets to around $450 easily. As for heating, we use propane but the problem is around 2 years ago apparently there was a leak in the line somewhere, so over night we lost almost all of our propane, and we've never had it filled since to fill an entire tank around that size would cost around $700 or so. There was one time we arranged to get the thing fixed and propane filled, but whoever it was that came out to look at the tank and the line couldn't figure out where the problem was, and we ended up just cancelling the propane order since we were tight on cash. Needless to say, I can't wait to be rid of this house. If all goes well I'm hoping to buy a new house by Summer 2020, where I'll be free from all this bs.

The heating and cooling in my house are both broken and don't work, I really need to buy a new space heater but I'm way too strapped for cash currently. The space heater I'm currently using in my room isn't enough, I turn it off when I leave for work so I'm not wasting energy, and when I do get home my room is as cold as ice, it takes over an hour for it to fully heat up, and the memory foam cushion on my chair gets completely solid with how cold it is.

My first girlfriend was really nice and sweet, she was also half black, though she was the type that'd be considered white on the inside, and that's what counts. Anywho, I was with her for 6 to 8 months, don't really remember since I was around 17 back then. Things were falling apart in the last month or so, she told me at some point she cheated on me, she didn't do it with anyone (as far as I know) but she started seeing someone else. I really cared about her and you could say I was blindsided by that so instead of splitting up then I managed to get us to work through it, but then this one grade A dbag that didn't like me at all did his best to cause trouble between us, him being a friend of hers and unable to see that he was only being her friend to fuck me over, the dude even told her that he only started talking to her yo drive us apart but gave her one of those "but once I got to know you I couldn't do that" talks and she believed it. It wasn't long after that that they hooked up, and I don't think they were together that long before splitting up. My second girl was very very manipulative, and in some ways a compulsive liar. She'd lead me on with so much drama supposedly going on in her life, using that to exploit my grief for her amusement and benefit. These two relationships went down between 2010 and 2012, and everyone in the boards back then thought that I was just a bitter asshole that argued with everyone for no reason at all, something some people here still hold against me to belittle me.

After Fire Emblem Three Houses came out I played that game for well over 100 hours, clearing the first path of Black Eagle house, and then Blue Lions, and I'm almost done with part 1 in the Golden Deer route but I burnt myself out on the game because I played it that way. I've played it once and awhile since then, but for over a month now I've been focusing on other games. After that I started a new game of Metal Gear Solid V TPP, I never finished it years ago, so I started a new game but only got to around the halfway point. When I bought my 2080 Super it came with a key for the new Modern Warfare, I played some of the campaign, it's alright I guess, but still just another call of duty. And then I got The Outer Worlds, and I love that game. It took me around 22 hours to finish it, although it bummed me out cause I wanted it to keep going on, that's how good it was. Really hoping they do story expansion DLC if not a full on sequel at some point. And with TOW done, I'm kind of in a drift, where I'm not sure what I want to play next. I'm not quite ready to pick up FE 3H's again. I ended up starting up a new game in Bioshock Infinite, I bought it on Steam many years ago but played barely even an hour of it back then (I already beat it once in the past on the PS3). Not sure if I'll play through BI or just play it until I decide on something else.
