I mean, that's pretty much how it's been in Japan for many years now. More and more teen boys and young adults don't know how to express attraction for girls / women, them getting put off way too easily. Also considering as far as asian countries goes, Japan is still living in the past with the way they think women should live. Even in an Asian country like China women are free to do whatever, but it's still a thing in Japan where men are expected to be the sole provider for the household, and women at the most should only have part time jobs. And how once they become mothers, the men on average no longer sees them the same way. But now in the 21st women you have women that are taking charge, and also going out there and having careers and making more money than men, which is something that goes against whats been the norm, so it's basically a case where they don't know how to adjust to that, so they just give up and don't even try. In anime for the most part you only ever see two types of characters, someone that's all about girls and comes across as a major perv, or someone that acts almost or completely asexual, I guess with the way social life is changing over there that's probably how boys are viewed or are expected to act now.

what is a jackbox? does it take 15 minutes to not get my order right?
-
True, but still better than anything Bethesda has made. My guess as far as character creation and the game being in 1st person is maybe they wanted to focus on making the game with that perspective, and maybe after launch they'll release an update to allow for 3rd person, them laying down the ground work by having the character customization

I don't like onions and peppers, so imma pass. Especially onions, there's a specific crunch to them that keeps me from being able to eat them. In way they're my kryptonite.

It's in times like these when you ask yourself, what would jesus do? and then you whip it out and rub one out and then go to sleep. As one of the guys I work with would say.

I bought that shit yesterday, and so far I love it. This is coming from someone that does not like the Fallout series at all (I still haven't gotten around to playing New Vegas even though I've owned it for years), but none the less I thought FO3 and FO4 were overrated heaping piles of shit. The Outer Worlds though is extremely well made, and better in just about every way. I didn't want to buy it through the Epic Games store cause I don't want to support that business model of theirs, them just throwing money around to make PC games exclusive to their platform for a year, but in the end I gave in. Love the game so far.

Anyone here is planning on dressing up this year?
Distinct Lunatic replied to Kudasai's topic in Horror
one thing I've always wanted to do was dress up as a plague doctor, but that's money I don't want to spend for something that I wouldn't even be able to use considering I work evenings M-F, an even bigger waste considering I ain't got no neighbors for about half a mile. -

For me it's a case where honestly it seems like I'm almost always hungry. Like, I could eat a meal but it seems like not too long after that I'm hungry again. Almost like there's little in between, either I eat too much to the point where I feel discomfort, or eat a normal meal but feel hungry around an hour or so later. One of the guys I work with talked about how his grandpa has diabetes, and whenever my guy has blood drawn for testing to see if he has it or not, he says his tests always come back negative, but them drawing blood makes him want to pass out from fatigue. So for him he doesn't have diabetes, but feels like it's likely to develop one day. Guess it's similar for me, I know my gramps on my dad's side has diabetes, and I haven't had blood drawn since I was 10, but I get frequent dizziness, and with how it feels like I'm always hungry I worry that I could be dealing with that stuff eventually. then again I think for me it's more likely anemia that I get frequently. -
the first ever "gaming" pc I had I was tricked into buying from Best Buy back in 2013, I didn't know shit about pc hardware back then and the guy sold me on bs about how it can handle [2013] modern day games. The shit had an AMD A8-5500 APU with no dedicated graphics... needless to say it could only handle things like minecraft and telltale games on low settings. Skyrim actually did work on it though

One thing I'd want to explain is why I have so much storage, like 7.75tb When I built my very first pc back in 2014 I had a 128gb ssd and a 1tb hdd I reused from a different pc. I was running out of space with the hdd and it was also making loud clicking so I upgraded to the 4tb hdd, then at some point it seemed like my 1tb drive was close to dying so I replaced it for the 2tb sshd, and the 128gb ssd was too small so I replaced that with the 500gb ssd. Around 2 years ago I saw the 1tb ssd on sale for a pretty good price so I jumped on it. And when I built my current pc I wanted an nvme drive so I bought the 250gb ssd... So I got a lot of storage I'll never fully use

Curious as to who all here would consider themselves PC gamers / enthusiasts, and have built their own pc? I did an overhaul of my main pc recently, https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GJWsJb I went from an i7-6800k cpu and gtx 1070 gpu to AMD's x570 platform with a ryzen 7 3700x and an rtx 2080 super. This gives my life meaning...

I would love to do the same, but my cartel employers can be pretty anal about people pulling out their phones snapping pictures during business hours.

Anyone else here dealing with tinnitus?
Distinct Lunatic replied to Distinct Lunatic's topic in Free-For-All
I think I've had it since I was a kid but it was always something I'd forget about completely since it was only noticeable in absolute silence, even a little background noise was enough for it to go unnoticed. But times like this week it's been a constant sound in my ear -
Anyone else here dealing with tinnitus?
Distinct Lunatic replied to Distinct Lunatic's topic in Free-For-All
Last week I had a bunch of seasonal allergies, so I think it could have resulted from that. The last time I remember having tinnitus this bad was back in October 2017 when I went to a six flags, the coasters at that one aged horribly and I felt like I was being jerked around the whole time. For about a week after I was mostly deaf in my left ear and had bad tinnitus, it went away after the week and my hearing went back to normal. I think the thing that really fucked my left ear up is back in summer 2009, me my mom and step-dad drove to New Jersey for a week, and my step-dad is the kind of ass that in long distance drives blasts the radio as loud as it will go, and I was trying to watch my shows on a portable DVD player, even with my headphones as loud as they could go I could barely hear shit. I remember during that drive sitting with my left side against the back seat with my left ear pressed against the seat just so I could hear the damn thing. I remember when we finally arrived in New Jersey after driving for at least 16 hours I could barely hear out of my left ear. I'm pretty sure that's why I have tinnitus in my left one but I don't think I ever get it in my right. Normally it's so faint that I forget I have it, but times like now it sticks out so bad -

The video helps me out, gotta listen with headphones. With the video playing I don't hear any ringing, when it's stopped I do, but I think listening to it last night helped the ringing be more bearable and easier to tone out today. -

Most of the time that's what it's like for me, but it seems like once every year or so it's really bad -
I've had it for many, many years although for the grand majority of that time it can go completely unnoticed, only when I'm in complete silence will I then hear the ringing. There are periods of time where it will become much more noticeable, and I'd say about everyday since Saturday the ringing sound has been haunting every waking moment. It's been unbearable for many days. Even listening to headphones wasn't enough to cover it up. Yesterday it finally calmed down slightly, to a level where when I'm busy or talking to people I won't notice it, but it was still really audible, especially in silence, I ended up skipping my breaks at work since sitting in silence was when it was at its worse. the most annoying part is talking on the phone, my phone's always sounded a little faint with my right ear, so I always use my left ear for my phone, but my left ear has the ringing in it, so it's a little hard to hear my phone above that. Today I've finally caught something of a break, it's still there but it's much easier today for me to tone it out and focus on other sounds. Those white noise videos on youtube weren't of any help, but late last night I did come upon a video called "Nerve Regeneration Frequency - Through Isochronic Tones and Binaural Beats" I'm not really sure if I believe the parts about it supposed to help your nerves and stuff heal, but it's the only thing I've found that my tinnitus goes away completely when listening to it, when I pause or stop it it comes back, but listening to it for 20 minutes last night and then listening to it more so today I think is helping my ears a lot.
