OwlChemist81
...asking their followers on Twitter which show they would like to be aired on Toonami!! This could be big. Akame ga KILL! was of course one of the block's top-rated shows, and Parasyte was no slouch either. We could be talking the 11 PM replacement with whatever they decide on! Daos
It will be one of these. BLACK BULLET AMAGI BRILLIANT PARK THE FAMILIAR OF ZERO GATE HIGH SCHOOL OF THE DEAD INFINITE STRATOS NO GAME, NO LIFE THE PET GIRL OF SAKURASOU THE WORLD GOD ONLY KNOWS Toonami is only allowed to show mindless action shows.... so.... No game no life is probably out of the running unfortunately. Along with God, Pet and Amagi. I would have to say GATE would be the best fit for what Toonami wants. PokeNirvash
Toonami airing The Pet Girl of Sakurasou? Really, Daos? Really? Personally, I'd go for Chivalry of a Failed Knight because dat Mikio Sakai OP, but of the ones you listed, I'll go with Infinite Stratos just so all of you can experience a lawlharem that's somehow even more painful than GXP. [pray for ichika] They're not gonna air Pet or The World god only knows despite the fact that they're both two of the best examples of their genre. I just listed their best/ most popular stuff. If it was based on popularity I'd say No Game no life... but no violence so.... probably not. I can always hope they'll deviate from their "everything has to be a shonen" thing though can't I? I think Gate is the front runner. High school of the dead would be great though.
PokeNirvash
Well, Sakurasou (the proper shorthand) isn't an action series, nor is it dubbed, so Toonami airing it is harder to believe than the others you listed.
brianycpht
I saw the first episode of GATE. Looks like the kind of thing Toonami would show. I initially thought it would be the replacement for Parasyte last year if it was gonna be a Sentai title Funny it was actually a reply to Luis Murillo (twitter and Reddit regular) demanding Sentai come back to the block! mochi
High School of the Dead. I'm not familiar enough with the rest of the shows you listed to have a positive or negative opinion of them all I know is that if they got either of the two I object to I'd be skipping part of the block for the first time ever which of course guarantees that they're going to choose one of those two because I never get what I want ::]::

They never dubbed it?? Wow that sucks. One punch man didn't have a dub before it was on Toonami. But if they haven't dubbed Pet by now, it looks bleak. Wait hold the phones... we have a new top contender that just got a dub and would be right up Toonami's alley. IS IT WRONG TO TRY TO PICK UP GIRLS IN A DUNGEON? Sure, OPM didn't have a dub before Toonami picked it up, but that was long before it got a home video release, whereas Sakurasou was released sub-only to begin with. There's a clear difference. brianycpht
Well, the fact that they replied at all shows they at least have an interest in working with a Toonami again. I think this year and last the crew was going through the list of requested shows/shows they've really wanted for awhile. 2015 was apparently a VERY successful year for the block. I think the intent was to continue the momentum and start spending the big bucks to get the huge titles that people have been asking for. Interesting thing I think is that what made 15/early 16 so good was that they did things like Michiko, Akame, Parasyte, and Dimension W. These shows had some buzz but weren't as widely seen as Jojo, Gundam, and HxH. On Reddit, a few of us have mentioned that getting the real big stuff may have backfired because most people who would be interested in them have already seen them so it had the opposite effect of what you may think. No way in hell would I think a lineup that included Super,Gundam, and Jojo have lower than expected ratings. We may next year see a return to the more obscure things and original series

They did have some legitimately good shows amidst all the crap of their past though. Twelve Kingdoms was a masterpiece. As far as possible Sentai stuff goes, how about Log Horizon? It'd cash in on the SAO fad, plus from what I've gathered it's far better written.

I knew they were going downhill when one of the people in charge of the Godzilla vs. Megalon release came to the message boards on Toho Kingdom and barked at the members for being "ungrateful." Of course, this interaction was received poorly. I can't speak for their anime releases, but the DVDs they released back in the day for tokusatsu films were among the highest quality I've ever encountered. Now the company is just a ghost of what it used to be. I am not sure what went wrong.

ben0119
So, GATE... apparently this show has nothing to do with Steins;Gate. https://myanimelist.net/anime/28907/Gate__Jieitai_Kanochi_nite_Kaku_Tatakaeri Because I remember that show being suggested to air on Toonami on the old boards and it got shot down for not being an action show. Anyway premise sounds interesting. I'm not going to look any further into it than that because of spoilers but I can say I wouldn't mind this airing and it sounds like something different from what we've had which would be nice. Years ago when it was originally suggested I was very resistant to DanMachi airing. Really didn't look good to me, and it has a lot of those anime cliches I can not stand. So someone told me I need to watch at least 4-5 episodes before I judge it and I did and it sucks. Was so long ago I can barely remember what all I didn't like about it. I do remember Hestia being annoying though. So yeah all it is is just a pandering fan service ecchi harem show. Bleh. But just goes to show you how little of an impact it left since I barely remember anything about it. So yeah, don't air this, please. Re: Media Blasters - I seem to remember them being behind some pretty good shows. Wasn't aware they were still around, though. Thought they died off when the big anime crash happened, which I think coincided with the Great Recession, but I could be remembering incorrectly. Seems they in fact do still exist but might as well not. A shame.
ben0119
Sentai seems to be trying their hardest to be thought of as a trash company That sounds like a gag dub. Also that show doesn't look very good, either. The characters all like kinda blah and they've got frozen anime face disease bad. Especially hilarious during the part with the guy "singing" to the girl on the bed who just sits there blinking and her expression completely frozen in that goofy happy face. So it seems kind of fitting, oddly. All in all, though, seems hard to believe this isn't all a joke.

The manga and prior anime well predate InuYasha but the similarities will be apparent to people who have seen InuYasha. It's hot blooded shounen fun with killing demons and such.
