Richie Torres in the Bronx and surprisingly Antonio Delgado (her own Lt. Gov) are both apparently exploring the idea. But the fear isn't people switching to vote against her, it's just people staying home entirely.

I can understand that. Once you said Hochul and Lawler that was my first thought “idw any part of this shit I’ll stay home” 😬

My shitty opinion: re-electing Trump is like Brexit for America. The UK thought British exceptionalism was enough for them to pull through the increasingly glodbalized economy, but they are suffering and will continue to suffer. Fortunately, I don't think the US will be in as bad if a spot, as we do have the largest economy and access to both oceans, along with a powerful military. Still, American soft power is probably gonna wane.

To add onto this, here is Elon Musk cozying up to Nigel Farage (right), the asshole behind Brexit, at Mar A Lago.

if someone could explain, how the elect admin, can make decisions and choices for this current administration

i.e. the budget plan.

jfc. this country is in so SO much trouble.

It's actually not at all surprising. Republicans currently control the house; they're going to soon control everything, and A-hole-elect controls them. The current administration hasn't really had any power to legislate for the past couple years. The only reason the democrats have gotten anything they wanted through budgetarily is because of the house republicans' utter dysfunction and reliance on the democrats to pass anything at all.

Still, killing this bill and shutting down the government now, right before Christmas, is just an an absolutely hairbrained idea, especially given their margin in the house is going to shrink after Jan 20th and there is no guarantee they'll be able to pass a republican-only supported budget any time soon. And the longer this whole thing drags on, the more likely it'll be to actually stick in people's memory holes. Still, now that the next election is two years away, they probably figure no one will remember this that far down the road. Sad to say, but as most people have the memory of a goldfish, they're probably right about that. Yeah, we're in trouble.

What happened was democrats and gop hard liners sunk a Trump backed bill to avoid a shut down. The new bill had a lot of bullshit in it like 25m for security for SC justices’ homes

They can have the same security that schools get - one half-retired rent-a-cop that sits on his ass most of the time or nothing at all. To do anything more might offend a bullet.
