How Do You Banana?...

...and no, this isn't like an innuendo thing. For once anyway.

How do you deal with a banana? Do you cut the stem off with a knife and peel it from there? Do you cut it in half and peel from the cut? Do you just order it as an extra at Orange Julius and let them deal with it blender-style?

I slash the stem with a fingernail and use the semi-attached stem as a pull-tab for the first peel.

However...

This topic came to me at lunch today when I saw how one of my co-workers dealt with the banana in her lunch. She smashed the everloving crap out of the end to start a split in the peel midway and then broke pieces off with her bare hands once the 'nanner was exposed. No one else seemed to notice but I felt like I was watching a murder.

I honestly can’t stand bananas at all. The only way I will ever tolerate them is in banana pudding, but even that’s a rare treat for me.

Haven’t had them in years. Too many with those brown spots on them. It’s been awhile since I had a banana split sundae, I could go for that again soon.

I just snap the stem, peel the other sides, and chomp, while making complete eye contact with whomever is staring.

I forgot who taught me this.

I used to peel from the stem, but someone told me to squeeze and peel from the node at the other end because that's how chimps do it.

It works better. Chimps know their bananas.

I just peel it from the top. Sometimes the stem wants to be a bitch so I puncture the skin and peel from there

I think when banana is more ripe top works fine but for less ripe banana the way monke do from bottom make sense

I just start peeling the banana until there is no longer a peel on there

Then I peel off the weird, hanging excess banana strings and for some reason I always rip off the very bottom of the banana then I stuff the rest of the banana in my belly button like every human

I’m weird with banana. I like the taste but not the texture. So usually I don’t fuck with them but when I do I snap the stem and pull.

Depends on how I'm eating them.  If I'm eating them with something else (sandwich, cereal, ice cream) I usually cut them in half and run the knife down the ridges/seams to peel and cut accordingly.  If I'm eating it out of the peel as a snack, I snap the stem back and peel.

Eat them with cereal, peanutbutter, in shakes, in pudding ...alone
