Marijuana to be Reclassified as Schedule III Drug…

Recommended Posts

Class III means it will be in the same category as Ketamine and some Benzos.

I still find it so damn dumb that it isnt federally legalized, or at a minimum decriminalized. Such a stupid fight to be trying to wage. At least they are finally admitting that Weed isnt worse for you than freaking Meth.

I like the reclassification because now we can have proper studies on what cannabis is good for and what it isn’t. It’s near impossible to do studies with its current classification

It's not even worse than alcohol or nicotine.....and I dare say caffeine

I think that will be the biggest impact of all of this. Finally allow some research on the subject and see what it shows. Theres a ton of anecdotal stories and evidence out there, now lets bring some science into this.

I’m excited about it. I think quickly people will probably be angry with the results or outright not believe them especially if it’s not what they want to hear. With that said I have concerns that special interests could squash kill or otherwise skew studies.

Also, this might be exactly what needs to happen for the DEA and CBP to start cracking down on cartels that run illegal farms.  Up to this point, it wasn't quite as easy to do drug raids on these farms unless they were clearly illegal (as in smack dab in the middle of a National Forest).  Now, there will be a framework for collaboration between LEOs and the Feds to better target cartel activity and help legal growers and dispensaries while taking the individual who grows for his or her own use out of the crossfire.

For the most part, wild grows don’t last too long because there are always eyes on the forest for wild fires.   But cartels also do a lot of major indoor grows in the suburbs and industrial parks.

This is ironically timed for me personally because I’ve been sober for a month. I enjoy it but the emotional dependency got too much.

I never thought of it as “addictive” because I did a lot worse drugs and I know how to fuck a life up.  Are you stopping forever or just taking a break? I do those sometimes. Been a while though.

I’m honestly not sure. It’s at least going to be a several months break. The second week I was having pretty wild mood swings. I never felt a physical dependency or anything like that, but I could feel my emotions being out of wack and it gave me pause. I have no moral problem with pot at all, but it was not doing great things for me as far as motivation and mental health. I do love getting high, though.

Oh wow it does sound like you’re doing yourself a favor by not using it.   It’s definitely not for everyone.

I loved it, but I had to quit in nursing school because it messed with my short term memory for a day or two after. Couldn't smoke on Saturday night then go to clinical on Monday expecting to be sharp.

My memory is definitely negatively impacted by my cannabis use but in the past it always returned to normal after a brief break. Idk about now though cuz I’m old 😬😆🫠

maybe you said somewhere, but was it sativa? my friend loves indica, and is down to clown in sofa town, but he can't handle sativa,  not even in hybrid.

Alcohol is the real gateway drug.

The alcohol companies don’t wanna talk about that though nor do the family members’ that gladly snuck a beer to their 10 yo relative. That’s why they all blame marijuana.

lol, i forget which room i was initially going to, then i remember, get to that room, and forget why i was trying to get to the room in the first place.

on the bright side, getting those steps in, is as easy as shit through a goose.

Sorry for continually hikacking this thread for personal anecdotes, but…

I’ve lost almost ten pounds since quitting and  my abdomen looks better than it has since my early 30s. Now. I will also point out I’ve stopped eating fast food (because holy fuck it’s so expensive). So, it might just be that. But I’m feeling really good and I hope I never relapse. Again. I have no problem with marijuana, clearly I loved it! But it might not be for me.
