murder

there is a natural spring a few miles from my house. I used to go swimming there when I was a kid, but the spring has since dried up.

Anyways, back in the late 60's - early 70's, a lot of teens were hanging out down there, which was typical on any weekend. A guy went down there and enticed a teen to go for a ride with him. He drove about a mile up the road and they got out the car, and he tied her to a tree, and commenced to hacking her into pieces. He placed her remains in a bag and put them in his trunk and drove away, passing by my house on his way back to Atlanta. His mother found out what he did, and he was arrested, and died in prison maybe a decade ago.

There seems to be a few paranormal stories about this location. It's literally, less than 5 minutes from my house, and I've never investigated it. In two weeks, when our daughter comes back, I think we are going to go investigate this location and see what we can find. I know exactly where the murder took place. It's just a matter of if the claims of paranormal activity are true or not. It will be filmed, so, if any evidence of the paranormal is found, I will share it here.

I think is strange how my father's half of the family is all Creole and I was raised in Louisiana a large part of my life and I have no belief in Ghosts, spirits, haunts, haints, boogiddy boos, voodoo, witchcraft....etc.

And believe me....They have tried their hardest to instill it in me....I just don't see it......It all seems to be soaked in coincidence, or at worse, has a logical explanation.

Not hating, because I hate that part of me is apparently dead.....If you run into my imagination's ghost, tell that fucker he coulda left a note before committing suicide.

I am not a firm believer either. I have been ghost hunting for about 20 years now, and although I've caught some weird stuff before, I can't say with 100% certainty that it was paranormal. I suppose after 20 years, I should give up, but I'm still looking for that one piece of strong evidence.

I mentioned some things that have gone on in my house since I've moved here that has me believe there's a strong possibility that my house is haunted. The biggest thing was one day when my boss called me into work for a couple hours early in the morning, when I got home I immediately went back to bed, but I had a pretty lucid dream, I kept moving around cause it seemed like a lot of people were talking around me. I remember opening my eyes a couple times while sleeping to see if anyone was in the room but there was no one. While still asleep I was dreaming that I was lying in bed in my room and when I looked to the side of my bed I saw an old man in his 70's or 80's, with some patriotic ball cap on, and a few other things about his appearance. When I got up I google searched the name that was on a letter I got from the VFW addressed to the person (not gonna post his name cause don't want the possibility of people finding out where I live, his initials were W. S. W), and sure enough I saw an IL obituary listing for Mr. W.S.W, same spelling even, and the picture that was shown there on the obituary listing matched what I saw while asleep. The guy was born somewhere between 38-40, and died in 2019, around a year before I bought the house. That said though I'm pretty sure he didn't die in the house, since I'm pretty sure they have to tell you about something like that happening.

Nah, that would be like me giving up Theology research.....I'm not religious myself but it's always fascinated me the things people have worshiped over the eons and what we know about the mentality that creates it.  I may never find that real answer and I KNOW I'll likely never get to chat it up with whoever is allegedly pulling these strings, but it's just a fun topic.

It's completely driven by my disdain for organized religion, and witchcraft is really fun to study...I'm actually looking into the pseudoscientific "religion" revolving around crystals and stones...I know a couple of chicks that are into it and while I find it hokey af, it is kinda dope listening to what they believe.

Anyway, keep chasing slimer....You might find him and I might stumble upon god...who knows.

I find that organized religions, like Christianity and so on in the 21st century have the effect of pushing people away from God and religion than bringing them in.

Because of the way they paint their God and their version of heaven, and with what's written in the bible it all seems like fairy tales. Now of days people are free to think whatever, and they see that stuff for what it is and use that to completely write off god and religion, and to promote atheism.

Eh, this ain't rants and I'm waiting on my meat to marinate...

Not to shit on it...Frankly, I've only passively even looked into it....But it give me the sentiment "you hate religion, so you became a religion"

That could be completely wrong...It's not like I've delved into it much because it rarely comes up.....When I do, I'll let you know how I actually feel towards it and not just give u an outside looking in assessment.

Don't get me wrong......I still read that...and it piqued my interest......but I find murder to be better.

Well, this was the most gruesome murder that's ever happened in my area. Although it happened a few years before I was born.

There's also a triple grave in the city cemetery that has always piqued my interest. It's three sisters. All from another country, though which one escapes me. All died on the same day. But I've never been able to get any information on it, other than they were murdered. Don't know why they were here of all places, as their family was still in their country of origin, and no clue why they weren't taken back to their homes to be buried. Very peculiar.

Nah. I think organized religion has pushed people away because the Christian faith loves to shove their beliefs in your face. They'd probably have more followers if they didn't push their agenda, and ridicule people when they say nah.

"Come to church Sunday. We have fellowship and then a meal."

"Nah, I've got other plans this Sunday."

"Ohhhhh. Ok." (Walks off muttering that you're a heathen and can't wait to get to church on Sunday to blast you to the congregation."

It's much more than that. It's not something I've latched onto bc I'm liberal. I was raised a UU. It formed from merging the Unitarian and Universalist associations in the 1960s. Both having a deep history originating in christianity going back 500 years.

American history has been shaped by both churches. 5 presidents have been unitarians. John Adams and John Quincy Adams and the whole family were 100% unitarians. Jefferson was influenced and sort of became unitarian-ish late in life which I think is the source of his mixed feelings on slavery. Millard Fillmore attended/associated with the unitarian church for like 30 years but claimed not to be one which is bullshit and kinda reflects his bullshit reluctance to take a stand on anything in his presidency. Fillmore is famous for taking Lincoln to a unitarian church with him a few times tho. Fat boy Taft and his parents were Unitarian.

There have been supreme court justices and congressmen. Tons of abolitionists. 2 of the secret six who funded John Brown and his rebellion were unitarian ministers. Susan B Anthony and her family were Quakers and Unitarians. One of the founders of the NAACP. It's not a coincidence. The principle of equality is serious in UU. That's kinda why I try so hard to convince you that there are people who truly believe in it. Like it's programmed into me just as much as any other religion is programmed into people. Not just to believe it but like be active and uphold it.

Lots of other ppl also.. Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Charles Dickens, Lysander Spooner.

It goes back, and we have a legacy. It's not some new age anti-religion thing that came from the 60s which a lot of ppl assume just bc that's when the merger happened.

So if you look into it, read the history, not just the list of our common beliefs, principles, and spiritual sources.

I thought he looked familiar

I read about presidents a lot, and have always seen the doppelganger here.

Also, I did read about the Great Molasses Flood that you sent to to me.

Very interesting read.

If you come across anymore weird history articles, send them my way, please.

Oh, I can post more than two sentences, but I rarely read anything over two sentences long. It depends on the poster.

It was certainly more than I was willing to read last night before going to bed I guess, I forgot all about posting in here.

Pretty much the same for me after doing it for 8 years. Our group ended up going on hiatus and the founder died a few years later and I haven't done anything since. Might get back to it here and there though, no more home investigations though. A few crazy and/or asshole clients was really what got some of us burnt out then. I'll stick to cases like the OP which I did read now that I'm awake.

I joined a paranormal society one time, and we went to investigate a place I had already investigated alone, before.

They were more into the psychic realm of things, which I am definitely not a believer in. They were the types who got to the location and could ''feel'' things around them. So, me being the asshole I am, after I had had enough of that mess, I said, "Look. Did you all see that shadow over there? It was tall and moved that way." To which they all said yes they did, and that's where they were feeling a presence. I saw no shadow. I made it up, and their ''feely'' asses fell for it.

I never went back with them.

Just read the story of Ida Wood. Pretty much lived a lie, and became rich as hell by doing so. Then became a reclusive hoarder, worth millions. That's the dream right there. I've got the reclusive part going for me. Now, I just need the bank.

I wouldn't say lived a lie. She just embellished her past to get the initial attention. I could've had that life, but I couldn't really deal w/being a sugar baby. I need my freedom and chaos.

I read a couple of articles about her. Very interesting. After that, I moved on to 19th century serial killers. Always had a fascination with H.H. Holmes and the theories that he could have possibly been Jack the Ripper. And the fact that he is a doppelganger of one my deceased cousins. Spitting image.

The ghosts around my area have been getting Pisssssssed. I think it's because people aren't really respecting them. Near my place there's the burnt girl ghost who I've been trying to appease with some apple trees so she stops haunting the neighbors homes. Had another family move out and a new one move in since I last brought that up. That's like the 9th or 11th family to live there in like 10 years. At least it wasn't as traumatic as the last few.  Though now there has been some issues at the park where my relatives farm was that they sold and is now a park. I brought up this also how when we were younger there would be drums and chanting you could hear in the woods towards the creek; and you would sometimes see Natives or 17th century military telling us to keep safe as there are Indians in the area.

Well turns out my family would leave out some corn for the Indians. Don't know if they did it out of tradition to honor an old deal they had to share crops for using land, or if it was to appease spirits. Though now there's been no farm and no offerings and people have been getting hurt on the park trail near the creek. There was a large black bear that appeared but they can't ever seem to find. A pack of coyotes have appeared out of nowhere. Some people have said they've heard drums down by the creek. Someone walked down by the creek almost drowned and it's not a very deep creek maybe knee deep though the majority of it. People have been complaining of some horrible smell at times like hot death. Also the town built a small Indian village with wooden lifesized Indians in the park that keep getting damaged.

There's another ghost near by of a young boy who was hit by a semi while riding his bike. Older story that happened near the farm down the road. The farm recently got sold and they've been building town homes and the workers have been reporting odd things happening. The spooky story that I grew up with was that if you were on the road and looked under a semi going by then you'd see a crushed bike under it as it passed which would vanish as the semi went by. Though if the semi was stopped and you notice it and you're walking or on a bike then the ghost will try to pull you under the semi. So now there's lots of people walking and biking down this road than ever before and the accidents are going crazy. People on bikes say they sometimes feel a force as if they were pulled. One guy was killed, and there have been a lot of construction workers who say they've been knocked into traffic. It's really slowed the building process. Something that was supposed to take 10 months will be going into its 3rd year soon due to all the mishaps with people and equipment.

I think this will be the proper course of action.

I think first though, I will check it out in the day time, especially since snakes are still out and about right now down here. Perhaps an overnight investigation around Halloween will be the perfect time and setting.

I am all in all in favor of this lol

I've thought of doing just this. No crap, no supposed technology, just a man a camera and his balls. Or woman camera and her vagina and all of it's enormous power.

It's been a long time since I've done an investigation. I've always known of this murder location, but just recently heard of the paranormal claims there. It's less than 5 minutes from my house, so, I would be a shitty paranormal enthusiast if I didn't check it out. But yeah, just me, and my camera. That's it. I will post the video here when I film it.
