Now if it was just you and this guy, you'd own up to it and try to fake laugh it off like it's not a big deal and you're not actually a piece of shit, but it's a lot of people and you just can't have all these people knowing you're a piece of shit. You can't laugh off the collective group indictment. So you make up your mind right then and there. You're going to stick with the lie. In fact as far as you're concerned it's now the truth. The other guys the one that's lying and damn it you're outraged. You escalate the situation because how dare he. You put on a big show like the sociopath that you are and muddy the situation so that no one can judiciously pick a side in this argument. Then you just never see or talk to that guy again. You ever do that?

Since I don't have a normal job anymore, that leaves me pretty isolated from humanity unless running errands.

You ever do that? Not that I can remember. I rarely lie outside of a joking manner because there's generally no reason too.
