bnmjy Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 cost too much money, bitch Plus most of the trash will eventually degrade or decompose and become nutrients or new materials for other shit to form.
Naraku4656 Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Plus constant rocket fuel wouldn't be great for the environment either 1

Lasty Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Maybe if we had a working space elevator. Our planet’s gravity may be too great...

The kind of rocket needed for that would be enormous. Likely bigger than one we have available. You'd still need a force great enough to lift hundreds of millions of tons of trash. The ecological cost and economic consequences of considering that would be astronomical. A better solution is to reduce the amount we use and to recycle more. stilgar Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 Because your too fat to escape the gravitational pull of Earth. 3

Azalar Hex Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 At least fire that shit into the sun. Do we really need to become a planet that leaves a stream of shit spiraling out into the void? This is the logic people who flick their cigarettes out their window when they drive have. "If I don't see it it's not my problem" 1

"If I don't see it it's not my problem" I feel like Packard would agree on the whole "launch trash into space" deal 1
Doom Metal Alchemist Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) We already have a lot of "space junk" aka abandoned pieces of rockets and space craft in orbit that is generally thought of as a problem in the scientific community. And I think orbiting is the problem, if we do the minimum to launch it into space, it'll just orbit the Earth. Who knows how that would affect the atmosphere and consequently our environment. And if we put forth a lot of effort into sending it far enough that it doesn't orbit Earth it might find some other planet to orbit around and do who knows what to its atmosphere and environment. ITasteLikeSex Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 Remember the time a shuttle exploded? Now imagine that carrying enough garbage to make the trip worth it.
