Great OP!

Ah, I love that new anime smell.  Yeah, I am getting InuYasha vibes from this.  I would say darker, but InuYasha was pretty dark too.  But maybe it's just the visuals that make it seem darker.  I have no idea if this show has moments of levity like InuYasha, either.  I get Kekkaishi vibes too.  Know almost nothing aside from the name, some visuals, and this promo, but I'm looking forward to it!

Having gotten caught up with the manga and having watched some episodes of the anime already, I can tell you that this show is...generic.

Now hold on just a minute guys and don't put your rage pants on just yet. WHILE IT IS SOMEWHAT GENERIC, I can say unlike some other generic shounen like Kekkaishi where not only is the story simplistic but the characters are boring as well, Demon Slayer has something of a charm to it. It's a little hard to explain, but watching this show, I kinda felt an endearing charm coming from some of these kids. It could be the rural Japanese setting or the fact that it's being animated by the same people behind the Fate series or it could be a combination of both. Whatever it is, I just find it to be gripping in a way.

I'll let you guys judge for yourself as the weeks progress, but if you're willing to give the simplicity of the story the benefit of the doubt, you'll find that sticking around could be worth it.

I wouldn't call Kekkaishi generic.  Especially in how it progresses during the manga-only content.  There's a lot of stuff in it that I've not seen done elsewhere.  Also in how the characters are utilized.  Another thing I liked about it is fights weren't about power levels and brute strength and punching, but strategy, tactics, and technique.  Also the combat style was unique.

I really have no interest in the Fate series whatsoever.  For one thing, it's derived from some weird porn visual novel.

I will judge for myself, for sure.  Not really sure I can take your post too seriously.

Oh, by OP, I meant the opening post, earlier, which AnimationFan did a great job on, if that wasn't clear.  I usually wouldn't watch an OP before the show premieres, just to go in more fresh and have that new show, new OP rush feeling right as the episode is airing, but I saw that it was by LiSA, so I decided to check it out.  It's good!  And the art and animation look really nice if that's how it is in the actual show!

And yeah, I could definitely see these adventures happening just down the road from the Yasha Gang. :)

heads up: a character in this show has a HORRIBLE dub voice, for some reason they cast Kirito's VA

We've literally heard only one line from Bryce here. It shouldn't be used as a measuring stick for the rest of his tenure.

he uses the same voice in every role with no variation, we can assume

Good voice acting isn't just about doing voices.  Not everyone even can.  Not everybody can be Frank Welker.  It's about being a good actor.  And Bryce is.  If Bryce pulls it off well and fits the character, I don't see any issue here.  If he was miscast, that's another thing.  But that wouldn't be his fault, either.

IMO it's more miscasting, he sounds absolutely nothing like the Japanese voice, a better match would've been Bakugou's VA

Bryce is good as some characters....Inosuke is not a good match for his voice

Oh so that's a THING to do?? I thought it was an unpopular opinion. Well dang. I never heard the original seiyu, so this'll be FUUUUUN trying to understand what complainers are talking about.

The cast list looks pretty awesome

as mentioned earlier, one character has a VERY strange voice actor choice, not because he can't act but because his voice is essentially the polar opposite of the character's japanese voice
