and now the contractor's are here...and i can hear the cutting.

and i know the trees are being hurt.

poor trees.

i hated to do it, but it's been 9 years since the electric company has serviced this area.

poor trees.

except those gawd damn paulownia's. they can go to hell. go to hell and die.

you cut me deep.

almost as deep as these tree cutters.

i have an old pecan tree that is just begging for death. bastard busted out two windshields in the minivan in 3 months' time. and then there's a maple that's pushing on a foundation wall on the east side. and then a maple on the west side that's doing that sacrifice thing maples do, and all the top center growth keeps falling over onto the $18k roof i had put on last fall. i own three big trees, and i'm gonna kill 'em all this spring.

there are so many trees around here. but they haven't been pruned or cared for in so long.

lots of fruit trees, a couple pecans that i know if they just got pruned would do so well.

but those gawd damned paulownia's.

screw them.

i've never dealt with paulownia trees. they don't grow in this usda zone. but the pecan tree is gonna be a mess to take down. it covers half the lot, from the north side of the house, over the entire back yard and garage, out across the alley to the west and north. power lines are strung under the branches to the west. but it's a shit tree. it drops these fuzzy seeds in the spring that explode and get into everything, empty shells (too old to produce actual nuts anymore) in the summer, leaves in the fall, and sticks all year round. fuck that tree.

but it will make for excellent wood for smoke/bbq.

that's a shame about the tree, but i get it.

I think wacky just wanted to brag about owning pecan trees and maple trees.

We have a lemon tree. Neener neener.

Haha.

i don't have any fancy fruit trees outside. and maples and pecans are nothing to brag about, at least not around here.

i do have an avocado tree in a pot in the house though. i'll be fancying up my toast while you suck lemons from your fancy lemon tree, bub.

got, yet, another avocado going.

this will be the 3rd time i will attempt this.

the first one was going swimmingly, until the cat ate it. and had to rush him to the vet.

the 2nd one got broken...by my other fat ass cat using it as a scent marker/scratcher.

this year...this year will be the year of the acocado.

*sips tea with lemon*

One time we had some painters here, and my mom was getting ready to pick up our dinner from Burger King. She asked the painters if they wanted anything. One guy said sure. The other guy declined. She kept asking him "are you sure? Are you sure?" He kept politely declining. So when my mom gets back with the food, she got both painters food. The guy who accepted the invitation was very grateful. The guy who declined, still declined it after it was brought home for him. Once they left, my mom let us know she was pretty offended that the one painter didn't eat any of the food she got him. I'm like, "mom, he told you he didn't need anything. Several times." Maybe he's not hungry. Maybe his wife will have a nice hot homecooked meal ready for him when he gets home and he doesn't want to spoil his appetite. And it's fucking Burger King. Maybe he's on a diet. Maybe he's diabetic. Maybe he's a health freak.

yeah..this guy knew his stuff.

he really tried his best to no destroy the cedar.

but it was already pretty damaged from hurricaine matthew.

it's...just a messy mess.

we're gonna' have to have someone come in and trim all of it.

because as you know...these electric line contractors are only in it to remove from the lines

they can't/won't get into making things pretty.
