of course i do. it's why doctors recommend you get a booster shot of most things you had when you were a child, as your get older your immune system "forgets". there's a good chart on the CDC website which indicates how often you should get what and when

Was there any indication of how common it is compared to flu deaths? 

I'm guessing the chances of things going wrong are pretty low. If that's to risky, you should never get into a car because you're way more likely to get hurt in an accident.
