it's about to be 2am and I thought I made the adult move not to go out tonight, but i'm still up and now i've started drinking....watching 20 year old me's favorite movie (human traffic) and polishing off my window sill joint....it just seems so fucking unoriginal to be this guy, but I always seem to find it so hard to think any of it matters

"the obstacle is the path"...I forgot where I read or heard that, but lately it's been on my mind...what do you think it means?

aww crap....is 28 the cut off?

that means I only have a couple months left

I wouldn't worry.  I think the secret to "Adulting" is just pretending like you know what you're doing

That's my secret

Most normal people don't know exactly what they're doing.

There's a lot of trial and error, and probably a lot more error than success.

I wash all my laundry together on cold/cold/quick setting because fuck the World.

I also use softener on everything because I like feeling like I'm wearing/walking on clouds

My name is Molar, I'm 31 and I do Laundry like a College Kid still and have zero shame in admitting it.

I only wear basketball shorts for underwear and all of my socks are black because I don't feel like dicking around with doing a dedicated load for whites and for coloreds.

I use more detergent than the manufacturer recommends and overload my washing machine because if I can't put 80% of my wardrobe in the washer then I'm probably not going to bother for another week.

I often forgo fabric softener because I just don't feel like getting up from GTA V to add a capful of softener. When I do, I use too much softener as well.

I toss it all in the dryer on cotton setting and dry it for 80 minutes, whether it needs to be in there that long or not.

My name is emtpy, I'm 25 and I do laundry like a high school student and don't give a fuck.

I was forced to be a full adult at 19 because of my stupid health issues. It's not that great always having to be responsible and on top of things. Except for laundry. I do that properly because I spent money on nice cardigans and blouses, and they're gonna stay nice goddammit.

I will still use dish soap to wash clothes if I run out of detergent.....I overflowed my pantry once using dish soap so now I only use enough that it won't do that, but it's probably not enough to even call it "washing" clothes.

I have a basket in the corner of my room full of clean socks and we jst dig through it every day looking for socks that match......Or at least the same color.

Some parts of me have been forced into an adult at a young age and other parts will always be a kid.

All I know is that I need to change some part of my life because I can't do this anymore. But then as I say that nothing changes....

you're at a crossroads. i would love to be able to say 'hey, try this' but, the truth of the matter is,

my opinion matter not.

I'm far past 31 and if it doesn't fit in a single load, it's not getting done. :D

I was on my own by 16 but I think 'adult' is just faking knowing what 'adult' is.

And being able to afford the types of toys you wanted as a child but not being allowed to play with them without someone thinking you might turn around and hug them too hard.

i just decided to pretend im your therapist instead.

stagnation doesnt mean you stopped growing and the boredom will force you to learn to enjoy yourself.  parts of life are more basic or

instinctual. you have put focus on things keeping you believing what the you you need to be right now needs to believe.  its only self

preservation. you associated happiness in these behaviors and reward yourself because you seek affirmation in your decisions and your

quest for happiness has brought you to your own specifics lengths it takes to achieve that satisfaction just like every other human being.

its pure instinct that we put some desires before some of our responsibilities.  plus addiction is a genetic predisposition and is only as

important as a cold when it acts up.  just dont drive fucked up.

When you're 44. Man, it's like no one has the patience to reach their 30s/40s anymore.

Nope

My Dad was real OCD about how laundry was washed and even had a little instruction thing printed and hung up over the Washer when I was a kid.

I think it's something he picked up in the Military.

Most of the places I've been in my life once emancipated have had those pay-per-load machines. The only times it's been free is once when the dorms caught fire, they let everyone use the laundry rooms for free in order to help get everything to not smell like smoke damage and when I lived in the frat, I was allowed to wash my clothes at a college friend's place because it was a frat laundry room. :| No one willing would touch any of those machines unless they were just going to set fire to their clothes later.

You want my precious quarters? You are going to earn them by dealing with every piece of dirty clothes I have all at the same time.

I will say my Sophomore year there was a Laundry Mat that charged you a dollar per pound of Laundry (turns out clothing doesn't weigh that much) and they'd fold it and bag it.  It made me feel like a King when I could drop off my entire Month's worth of clothing and pay $5 to have it washed, folded, and individually bagged for me.    Less than I'd spend in Quarters but for the amount of detail that was put into it it was worth it.  Also it was guaranteed to have a decent spin cycle in the washer and not followed up by a shitty over burdened dryer so I really couldn't complain.
