Moses was a total dbag. He tried to take me as a wife once but I told him, “No means no!”  and that’s why I’m not allowed into the promised land anymore 😬

Ahhhhhh.... That's a dissapointment

Did you get any kind of souvenir?

we had the internet when i was in high school. 90-94.

it just sucked. :|

seriously. i specifically remember being in a computer lab senior year and the teacher was showing us how to look things up on the internet.

i was like, this sucks. no one is ever going to use this. why is it so fucking slow?

This reminds me of when my dad bought Sony WebTV in the late 90s. He logged in and immediately went for the chatroom and saw a user named "misscutiepie" or something similar. He started spamming chat trying to talk to her despite her trying to talk to someone else. Eventually he got a hello and got frustrated at his failed digital booty call  returned the whole WebTV unit that day.

The dawn of the internet being available to everyone was both phenomenal and horribly underwhelming. I remember trying to watch music videos on Launch during class and everything looked like Sega CD live action cutscenes.

And yeah, load times were hilarious. It was one of the reasons I got into hardware and electronics because web based education was boring as balls

I've got a photographic memory of the 90's, and remember it fondly. I was too young to reap all the benefits of the era, but I was able to enjoy things like going to rollerskating rinks, climbing trees in the neighborhood, visiting the mall's arcade, and playing at parks. The internet didn't come to our household til much later, but when you're that young, visiting friends/cousins, going places, or Playstation was good enough. My most vivid memories come from music and movies, or rather going to the movie theater and and seeing all the posters, or listening to music at the mall, Borders, or department stores.

I know nothing about life in the 80's, but it's something I've always been curious about. Most of my fascination with the past is with the 80's and 90's as well, so much of my interest is in seeing how society's take on the future formed as technological innovations were just beginning.
