do you know stuff about alien invadisons

Yes and no, I'd say. You give me your ideas and I'll run with it. In the end, you receive all the credit for the dozens of hours I put into writing the thing.

I seriously might do this, btw.

Hmm, don't know anything about Longest Day, but I have watched War of the Worlds. This sounds rather interesting though. Would you care for any female perspectives? What year do you want the story to take place in? Do you want the invasion to happen during a world war? Give me some more details.

i have alot of ideas

you know whats fun to write about?  take a notebook with you for a couple days everywhere you go,

and anything that causes you to decide, judge, act, use emotion, or acknowledge your true feelings jot down.

then characterize real-life situations into a fiction context. using real inspiration works great in writing

Buy The Coming at Amazon

The Coming

By Joe Haldeman

The year is 2054. World War III seems inevitable, the LGBTQ+ community faces unprecedented oppression, and Earth is in the throes of disastrous climate change. When astrophysicist professor Aurora Bell hears the message ‘we’re coming’ transmitted from deep space, the already chaotic remnants of society are sent into an uproar. Through the use of multiple points of view, The Coming offers a disconcertingly realistic portrait of how alien visitors might be received in a dystopian near future that's eerily reminiscent of our present.

So you're arguing that your idea is unique; and to justify that you're pointing to it being used in another work.

Read my fanfictions ghostrek.

the  longest day  is a non-fiction book about june 6 1944 (d-day)

And you're adding aliens.

Multiple points of view + war + alien invasion.

Throw in the addition of sociopolitical commentary and you've just written the book I linked to above.

I'm not ragging on you ghostrek, I'm trying to get you to push the envelope.

Wow me.

Read my fanfictions.

If you want to write this for fun, have at it. If you're going to whine whenever someone calls it cliche, don't post about it online. D-Day was a huge impact on multiple continents, so this type of story has been done many, many times. I don't even read military fiction, but I've seen several plots identical to this. There's nothing wrong with throwing another one of these books out there, but if you don't want to hear these kind of comments, it's on you to research a way to write something that sticks out from all of those other books.

A good way to see what readers are tired of or want to see more of is by lurking book discussion sites, specifically in topics about military scifi.
