fuggnificent Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 The manager found out she got another job. Is that legal?
Derackthehunter Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Should have burned it to the ground first. That'll show them 1
MEXobiologist Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 most definitely. and sometimes necessary, depending on what kind of work it is/deals with.

Were the security getting aggressive like club bouncers? If so, I know if that were me that I'd have to drop the both of them and then make my way to the manager to ask what that was all about!!! 🐂
IKMongo Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Depends on state labor laws. Thats why i dont tell my employers if i work 2 jobs
SwimModSponges Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 It wasn't about the job, she was being deported.
Swimmod_Luna Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Unless you live in Montana, your state is an "at-will" employment state. Which means they can fire you at any time for any reason as long as it's not discriminatory against a protected class (So they can fire you because they don't like the color of your shirt but can't fire you because you're gay).

A gay person wouldn't be caught dead in that color shirt.

naraku360 Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 (edited) Yes, some positions have the employee contractually bound to either not have secondary employment or not have employment with a competitor and termination as the stated consequence. Edited March 8, 2018 by naraku360 1
