Is anyone else subscribed to 'YouTube Red'?

Damn site wouldn't stop pestering me about the free trial, so I got it and stuck with it.

It's really dumb on my part. Because I don't want 'Red' for any of the extra features, shows and shit. Nah. I shell out $15 a month for one reason.

No. Advertising.

Like I said it really stupid on my part, but after using 'Red' for a few months I just can't see going back to YouTube ads. It's just so much better when you can hop around the site freely without any interruptions.

I haven't seen a red ad for like a year.....Maybe more.  I didn't even think they still pushed that.

Maybe they push it harder on the app. Because it would regularly pop up.

I fucking hate Youtube Red. I have it exclusively so I can listen to videos on my phone while doing other things. There's even a goddamn loophole to do it without, but ads mess it up and it's annoying to do for every single video. I try setting up dummy accounts for the free trial whenever I remember to cancel pre-payment since paying to listen to videos as background is complete bullshit.

Yeah, I only see ads for it on the app. It's probably to give mobile users the middle finger for not being able to tab out without Red.

Mobile site doesn't have ads for me

No, because I only get ads when I use my phone or tablet for YT. Normally if I watch or listen to music on YT, it’s on my PC and I don’t get ads. Usually I use Amazon or radio station apps to listen to music via my tablet.

AdBlock Plus blocks ads on YouTube. I don't watch YouTube on mobile often enough to care about ads there.

Recently when I try to watch youtube videos with AdBlock Plus on, the video shows no picture, no matter the video. Disabling AdBlock Plus makes everything play fine.

Google recently started adding scripts to their site that mess with all ad blocking software

Makes sense.

However I found a VPN extension that has ad blocker in it and chrome for whatever reason can't stop it

Works just fine for me. I guess I have had a couple times where the audio will work but the video is just a black screen, but it works if I just restart Chrome.

I use ABP and uBlock Origin so maybe uBlock is actually the one blocking ads?

I've played with Youtube a bit with the Firefox mobile browser and haven't gotten any ads so far.

Just downloaded uBlock Origin and that did the trick. Thanks.
