He might not even think they're human.

You remember incorrectly. She never provided any evidence and no one ever stepped forward to back her story up, so it predictably died in the news. I don't think even FoxNews bothered with it after she made the initial accusation. Snowden is a completely different thing.

Anyone know how to bake an ice cream cake?

It's actually a well-known set of Garfield and Jon related memes. -
So... sending missles into apartment buildings is "a good job of avoiding civilian targets?"

I think it's intentionally garbled, actually. -
Life in the Hermit Kingdom of N. Korea, OR IS IT?

Someone's got a chip on his shoulder. Which station? Despite what the MAIN STREAM PROPOGANDA MACHINE tells you, there is more than one subway station. -

It's a shame. I have, in fact, baked ice cream. -
Some fans were never going to like it. It’s not perfect (and Vicious is ironically cartoonish), but it’s a different way at looking at the source material. If you’ve deep dived the original, you appreciate how the LA is authentic to the characters while adapting the story.

I like John Cho, so yes. The Jet is spot on.

I remember you being a fairly confident poster and there was no way she was messing with anyone that was going to call her out. I miss those threads! CB is definitely making an appearance in the Survivor game.

So, I like Denver, but I'm totally satisfies with either outcome now that the Celtics are out.
-
This thread feels like a really, really bad idea.

Obviously he's calling it that to distance it from the actual frontline, but It probably rings a whole lot more hollow now, after nearly a year of having nothing to show for the special military operation, that Muscovites have to contend with actual danger.

I haven't even revealed the prize yet! -
If it was just on popularity, it would have been done the minute Biden took office. No matter what part is "forgiven," the loan provider will take on at least part of the burden for that forgiveness, as in the federal government isn't just going to pay all of the interest. It's a far tougher sell to these providers and the various entities that back them financially if this change means that people who already have paid multiple-times-over the principal get that money applied to the principal amount. Interest isn't just profit; it's funding other loans and it pays for overhead. Losing even the profit part of it when negotiating the loan forgiveness can still have a ripple effect. That isn't to say this can't be worked out with them. It's just to point out that trying to set the loan amount to just the principal changes very little of the financial math involved and, consequently, the political headwinds. Once the SCOTUS makes a ruling, we'll see how the Administration responds.
-
I’m pretty sure the lenders servicing those loans would disagree with that plan.
-
It's important to remember that the vast majority of these loans represent a fraction of what the individual student borrowed and that for all but the most recent borrowers the "principal" amount would have already been paid.

Why not participate? Even if you don't want to hang out on the boards, you can still hang out in the club for a little while longer. -
Everyone already knows the SCOTUS's ruling is imminent. On the off chance they don't kill the loan forgiveness, the pause itself becomes moot. It's likely that Biden's Administration and the progressives are already in discussions about what to do if the ruling comes back striking it down. However you look at it, though, there isn't much anyone can do until that ruling comes down.
-
There is no question that the deal isn't as bad for Democrats as it could have been. The work requirement is the toughest pill to swallow to be sure, and, if progressives do balk because of it, a failure would be a strong indication that Biden's budget negotiations have uncovered some bigger issues.
-
I think that somewhat undermines the progressive movement, but they're all far more politically savy than anyone gives them credit for. The whole need to make a liberal equivalent to the inept far-right caucus tends to create the illusion that any time Matt the Pedo, Chip Roy, Bobo the Clown, and MTG farts something out, the progressives will do something similar. In reality, the progressives behind AOC have been extremely adroit at tailoring their message and speaking out at the right time. The results over the past two Congresses speak for themselves.
-
Lindsay Graham said something, but he's not likely to cause a default just to prove a point. The other usual suspects, however, have not said much.
-
Progessive Democrats are rational adults so this gets through the House. The problems are more about the one or two nutters in the Senate minority who might decide to gum things up procedurally.
