Well because when everybody started shouting about how common core was a socialist conspiracy created by the Obama administration, i actually looked at what it entailed, read studies on how and why it worked, and began integrating it into every day life. As someone who failed algebra 3 times, the fact that i can now do things almost instantly in my head that would have taken a few minutes to write out with the old style mathematics, well i really wish i had this back then.

Common core is easy af because it's closer to the way the human brain actually thinks about numbers. 5,327+860=6,187 because... well, we added every single 1 together and thats what came out. Vs. 5,300+850+30-3+10 Got a chunk of about 5300, got a chunk of about 850. Stick the chunks together. Ok, now we've got a chunk of about 30, and a chunk of 10. Stick them all in the mix. All right, so getting more specific, that chunk of about 30 was three short, so lets take that away. Wham, answer right there.

Sitting here playing JWE, girlfriend snoring on the couch waiting for me to go to bed, every five minutes or so I catch myself starting to doze off midway through building some shit. I figure it's gotta be past two, so I look at the clock. It's only 11:39. I was exhausted this morning too.
