Just FYI for the normal thread crew, I'm gonna stop leaving redirects to the previous week's threads since they clutter things up, but they'll all be moved to the archive folder as usual.

Who's praying for that? I want to see what they came up with. Not that I think it has any real chance of being good, mind you, but from everything I've seen they put genuine effort into it.

Occasionally, especially if they're particularly bizarre or disturbing.

I mean the episode threads had largely devolved into play-by-play over a decade ago, well before the demise of the ASMB. Most of the people who got into the more in-depth discussion have either long since left the community, or else don't seem to be into it anymore. Lord knows I lost the energy for long-form discussion posts a very long time ago. If you can find a bunch of people who still want to do that, it'd be fantastic, but I'm not sure they're out there.

I think his argument was for each series having its own ongoing thread, not one thread for each Saturday night lineup. That way people who are only interested in one or two shows can just stick to those threads and not worry about any of the others. And I mean, that approach makes a lot of sense, and I don't have any problem with it. My point is that the decision should be left up to the people who actually participate in these weekly discussions. If they want to switch over to a single thread per series, great. If they want to keep doing the individual episode threads every week, also great. It shouldn't be on those of us who don't even participate to decide things for them.

I trust that piece of shit as far as I can throw his bloated ass but at least it seems like good news for the moment.

Dunno, but like a good crazy person I snagged Siren Visual's Australian DVD release of the whole series back when it was available.

I'll keep that box unchecked next time since I agree that it looks kind of wonky now, but at the end of the day I still don't see individual episode threads being any sort of real issue. It's 5 new threads a week in a folder that would probably only get 2 or 3 new threads per week otherwise.

I mean I have little to no interest in what episode threads have been over the past decade or so either, but if some people enjoy posting in them, then why bother them? It's not like they're doing any harm. And individual comedy episode threads didn't work because, from what I recall, they basically had a negative postcount.

Individual anime premiere threads have been a thing for as long as I was an ASMB member. It's very much a tradition at this point. I know Pat was asking about who was willing to move that stuff over, and I wouldn't mind doing it if given the authoritah.

I am very much an indoor cat. I've spent a few days at a stretch this summer not even setting a toe outside, and I barely even noticed.

Viz announced that they had the rights to it late last year. I can't imagine that this Disney+ deal supersedes that. It may even be a Japan-only streaming thing.

Can't say I ever had any sort of urge to do so. I don't even want to imagine the crew that works at the one place that's around here.

I'd occasionally buy stuff from FUNi's own store when they had big bundle deals during holiday sales and such. If they have the same deals there I'd buy there too.
