No it goddamn isn't. Nobuhiko Okamoto announced his surgery at the end of May and is recovering right now. The last episode of season four aired in Japan on April 4th, almost two months before then. It may affect season five in the future, but every single episode that currently exists was fully completed and released months ago in Japan. Also, why the fuck would the Japanese actor's medical leave have anything to do wit the English dub of the show? I am genuinely curious why you believe he has any effect on an overseas production that he doesn't even work on.

Do you just go looking for unlikely doomsday scenarios for fun or what? Patrick Setiz is a veteran actor and y'know, a capable goddamn adult. Unless this was an emergency surgery, he would have given ample notice to Funi and the other studios if he'd be unable to perform. And considering he was cracking jokes about the surgery both before and after it happened, it was a minor thing. Funi put out an announcement that episode 87 would be out this Sunday. That means the episode is either 100% ready to go or only needs the last bit of work done on it before it airs; the voice work is definitely already finished because the rest of the work could not happen unless they had the dubbed audio from everyone. We might still get a two week wait for 88, but a lot of the work is almost certainly out of the way for it. Sit down and stop blowing things out of proportion to give yourself an excuse to panic.

The lines may have been recorded pre-quarantine, but there's probably been more work involved for Funi helping with the publisher to make sure everything turn out well. It wasn't a decision that came from the show runners, it's an established policy that isn't a hill worth dying on. Would anybody besides the most obnoxious neckbeards (who won't even watch the show anyways because it's a filthy western adaptation of their precious Japanese cartoon) have even noticed the smoking if they didn't outright say in advance that they're limiting it?

There's a theory currently that they're holding back 87 so that they can release 88 at the same time, since the two episodes count as their own arc. And there's a difference between pessimism and blind panic. You're acting like Toonami is the only network being affected by the pandemic, when it's basically all of them. It will survive in some form, but no one can say for sure what it'll look like because this is an unprecedented situation for everyone. It probably will, but not for several more months. Stampede's bluray hit the states back in March, and Japan got it some time earlier than that but I can't find a specific date. Heroes Rising's bluray doesn't come out until July in Japan and we don't have a known release date for the US. They're not just gonna tell FUNi, "Sure, go ahead and stream our movie months ahead of schedule for anyone who's got $6 and a VPN."

Once again, calm your tits. Yes, there's going to be a pecking order for which shows get worked on, but Fire Force will definitely be one of them. MHA was clearly first because it's one of their top series right now and they have a TV deal for it. It's not surprising that Black Clover, the other FUNi premiere being actively aired on TV, also made the "must dub" list. A show that has every expectation of being popular, is a sequel to one you already dubbed and most of the returning cast likely has home equipment already, and is very likely to also get a TV deal asap, is going to be an obvious choice to spend resources on.
