  1. More blood geysers than a Tarantino movie = Perfectly fine for children. But GOD FORBID if they witness the art of fuck.
  2. Maybe if he gets laid he'll finally shut the fuck up.
  3. Depressed Anno = Neon Genesis Evangelion. Depressed and ANGRY Anno = End Of Evangelion, Rebuild 3.33. Clearheaded and married Anno = Rebuild 1, 2, & 4. It's come to my attention I like angry Anno the best. I should call my therapist tomorrow.
  4. Ugh... I am cutting together a dub that smashes the best performances from the ADV and Netflix dubs together, so fuck it I'm making my own box set. Maybe I'll buy a production cel on eBay just to say I purchased something idk. I'll hunt down the FUNI Rebuild 1.11 & 2.22 and then Amazon 3.33 & 3.0 + 1.0 Blu-rays whenever those come out.
  5. "We're gonna lay it to you straight: Do want to watch a cheap imitation on a streaming service that paid half a billion dollars to the guy who ruined Star Wars, or do you want *clicks buttons* the real thing..."
  6. Eh. If a line or two stays from the old performance it's fine (I was gonna leave him saying "That means we can bring them back from the Next Dimension" as an Easter egg).
  7. Well... damn. It's old as shit, but we're currently in yet another round of Anno fever with the last Rebuild out, so who knows?
  8. The wardrobe honestly is fine, but the lighting and "flat" looking cameras doesn't help (and I severely doubt the final product will look much different). That's why they really should've shot this on film instead, or at least put a LUT over it in post that emulates it like they did for Knives Out. The gritty color grading makes a huge difference. Unretouched: 35mm LUT:
  9. Realized how this shit would look less like cosplay and more "real" had it been shot on 35mm film: Or at least made to look like it was shot that way. Bebop deserves nothing less honestly.
  10. Saw 3.33 for the first time last night (I've been abstaining until the Rebuilds were finished). Wow. This is not anime anymore, it's an A24 movie. Absolute masterpiece. I can see why a lot of people hated it when it came out, but it might be my favorite Eva-related thing thus far. 3.0+1.0 tonight. I'm not ready.
  11. I thought it was just beach filler. No idea a movie was attached.
  12. Just rewatched 1.11 & 2.22 with the new Amazon dub. I appreciate them bringing Amanda back for Rei, but my fucking Jesus does this 'ultra-literal' mandate Khara has instilled for the translated script not work. It's so stilted to say that same shit in English, I appreciate Funimation's more punched-up effort. All because annoying weebs had to be annoying weebs at a theater showing.
  13. As well as the first 1/3 of my script for Star Wars Episode X.
  14. And now for something legally adjacent, my most recent completed episode in wonderful VHS quality (because Archive.org is shit). Dragon Ball Z (30th Anniversary Legacy Cut) Episode 42 : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive
  15. Did some research. At this point, it's best to forget Fly Me To The Moon was ever a part of NGE (unless you're natively Japanese) because it's never getting licensed again. Ever. Long story short: Gainax never did a full buyout for the sync rights for the song initially. This caused the international rights to lapse after a certain amount of time. When the streaming deal was accepted at Netflix, it was found that relicensing the sync rights for FMTTM would cost about $40,000 a day. That's $14.6 million dollars a year. To have the song be part of a home video release is another animal altogether and would've cost roughly $750,000. An episode. That's about $20 million dollars. Fly Me To The Moon was never a part of Eva. It was all a fever dream. I will buy the next set.
  16. Oh my god nuke this thread
