I generally don't read books and I'm very selective when I do. The only books I own is The Count of Monte Cristo, Animal Farm, 1984, Fire and Fury and Pride Prejudice and Zombies. I've read the Catcher in the Rye but I don't own a copy of it....yet.I don't know why but I don't really have that ability to get lost in a book.
Maybe it's because I always have one foot in the real world. It's probably also the reason it's hard for me to get super invested in movies. I'm constantly trying to dissect the movie. Trying to predict the plot/events, thinking about how effects were pulled off, noticing tropes, observing the camera work and dialog choices. I consider few movies a work of art. I believe the last one that really impressed me was Into the Spiderverse. Great writing, pacing and cinematography.
