yeah, similar story here. after I had e. coli in college, my mother was dealing with someone from the state DOH as they were trying to trace it. at one point, she called the person about it and my mom said she said something to her snidely like "I haven't worked on your case in months" in a totally needless mic-drop fashion. like... ok lady?

Kansas specifically timed the abortion referendum on primary day, where there was a contested GOP primary for gov but no Dem race, to juice their own turnout. Failed because it's such a high profile issue but still a tool.

I didn't even know there was a referendum. Veeeeeeeeeery curious about the timing of it, because scheduling it (outside the regular general election) can be a weapon too.
