When the kind of filler movie is the second most watched thing in Netflix in the entire world when it comes out, more Black Clover is inevitable.

Fist of the North Star’s CG being Kengan Ashura was a disappointment but at the very least, Kengan’s animation was fluid and very well choreographed, even if I would have preferred 2D. Rooster Fighter looks like this - It feels like a shounen anime infused with Aqua Teen’s animation and cynicism. Which can work but will win zero awards.

After Sword of the Wizard King did numbers on Netflix, it might end up there.

Oh boy oh boy, ANOTHER Toonami original anime. As if the batting average isn't close to .000. At least this one's based on a manga. Still, if this is their big Q2-Q3 show and WB Japan hands Netflix Steel Ball Run, Fist of the North Star, and Record of Ragnarok, that's going to be telling.

An announcement was made in 2019, but COVID likely derailed the production.

I miss being able to serve my pasta sauce to a group of people. Before COVID, and everyone moved away or passed. It's smelling up the studio in a good way, tomatoes, basil, onion, garlic, a bit of red wine, and balsamic vinegar, but it's just not the same.

Yeah but the season will likely be all three films, plus the obligatory Netflix and Crunchyroll airings. It’s worth noting Sony is taking this seriously.

F1 - 8/10. Brad Pitt still had the charisma to carry a film.

He still has Macross Plus to his credit, which is still a great production. There's no getting around it. This isn't very good. Toonami originals aren't very good. Their attempts to keep up with the proverbial Jonses in Netflix have led to a lot of subpar projects where it's clear there's too many cooks in the kitchen and a lot of little touches that make it worse. Arguably, the only original to really escape this is Shenmue, and that's because it was a rather faithful adaptation of two video games.

I'm sure DeMarco will get the inevitable TV season version if Toonami is around in 2028.
