  1. Mashle 2-5.
  2. Die Hard 9.5/10 - Perfect setup for an action movie that kicks more ass around Christmas.
  3. Air fryer duck and rice with mushrooms and green peppers, cooked in duck fat.
  4. This morning Netflix announced it was going to get the FIFA women’s World Cup exclusive rights. This is on top of Monday Night Raw and NFL. Warner has moved all its sports content to Max without needing any sort of cable subscription. ESPN is launching an independent streaming service that doesn’t require a cable subscription. We are in the twilight of cable and Toonami’s anemic state, coupled with even the Adult Swim originals relying more heavily on Max viewership than linear numbers, is proof of that.
  5. Daima Dub is a Crunchyroll Exclusive. Flop Girl reruns in pole position. No Creature Commandos even though it is doing numbers on Max. Toonami presents Mashle and one big old lump of coal.
  6. As nice as it would be, and it would help with the Superman hype, I think Warner would see it as giving away Max content, when Max is their biggest delivery system and priority. I mean I’d take it over the Flop Girl 10 times out of 10, but they’re probably not seeing it as actually putting something on that will do ratings and get some interest, they probably see it as giving away premium content for less.
  7. #1 on Max off the boost from the Superman trailer. Good episode too.
  8. No one has to migrate to those hours anymore. Even nowadays the big measure of success for Adult Swim originals is their Max viewers. It’s why you could tell MAWS and Ninja Kamui were doing well but comparatively IFG is bombing. We are in the twilight of linear cable. And this is just an example of those shifting audiences.
  9. When the shows are available on demand everywhere else a Friday afternoon block was not going to do great. Meanwhile Eternal did surprisingly well on Netflix so it’s clear Dumpling Head is blame free.
  10. July 2025.

  11. They didn’t buy it outright. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2024-12-19/sony-becomes-largest-shareholder-in-kadokawa-in-january/.219255 They bought 10% of the stock. Enough to influence the company and provide it liquidity to avoid a takeover (and as per Kadokawa executives, influence a shake up of upper management) but they don’t own it completely.
  12. That too. But when local governments are doing it (Unions negotiated with NYC for a hybrid schedule after Mayor Pigshit demanding a full time return to office) the weight of pissed off landlords was clear.
  13. https://www.yahoo.com/news/t-dumping-hybrid-follows-amazon-105632045.html I fully believe this has NOTHING to do with efficiency and a lot to do with pressure from real estate/local government, and company culture wanting a sense of control.
  14. Aqua Teen gonna never be cancelled… Only Brak gets canceled and stays canceled.
  15. We need the Adult Swim version of this -
  16. DanDaDan 11 Ranma 1/2 11
  17. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2024-12-13/crunchyroll-announces-release-schedule-for-winter-2025-season/.219009 As per Crunchyroll's release of their Winter 2025 schedule, the Daima dub is exclusive to them. Hope you're all ready for Flop Girl reruns.
  18. Final total was under $5 million and DeMarco should never be allowed to produce original anime again.
  19. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/kraven-the-hunter-box-office-bombing-1236087005/ $5 million domestic, $4 million international. Proportionally it’s not as big a bomb as Joker 2: Society Harder, but it’s still a terrible performance for a Warner that peaked performance wise with Dune 2.
  20. Creature Commandos is holding strong at #3 on the Max Top 10 and Flop Girl is nowhere in sight.
  21. The Flop Girl getting a marathon is an extremely inauspicious start to the new year. I'm fully expecting Lazarus to come out sooner rather than later now that they revealed the opening theme. I'm also expecting that to be another DeMarco disasterpiece. 2025 is going to be rough, especially since all the good stuff Toonami could theoretically get access to is either behind Max's paywalls or Crunchyroll's. If things were like they were in 2018, we'd have Solo Leveling leading off the block for the new year, not a marathon of the Flop Girl. Hell, at this rate, I'd settle for Harley Quinn and that show has fallen off big time since Season 3 (it's suffering a terminal case of Moonlighting Syndrome).
  22. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/kraven-the-hunter-box-office-bombing-1236087005/ Film is now tracking for $5 million. DeMarco’s got the Eye of Zaslav upon him.
  23. They haven't fully committed to the spin-off, but the restructuring is signaling an intent to do so, which means that if they do next fiscal year, then Cartoon Network is likely boned.
