It’s telling in a season with Watanabe at the helm, the best animated show this season…is Yaiba: Samurai Legend. Do we know how much DeMarco is steering the writing? I mean people want to blame him.

I’m pretty sure Genndy is doing the dog fucking movie because it’s so different from his usual wheelhouse. Guy hasn’t done a straight comedy show since Dexter’s Lab. But yeah, Netflix will have a far lower expectation on it. Even if adult comedy cartoons on there tend to be a coin flip in success.

Basically the same strategy they pulled with Nimona after Disney dumped that pile. Save it from the mean corporation and earn good rep when it costs way less than an in-house film.
