  1. Slight geekout mode - There's a novel set before Episode IV that came out that reveals everyone knows Jar Jar helped Palpatine get power and led to the founding of the Empire, so he's persona non grata on Naboo, basically treated the same as a leper. He ends up working as a clown at a hospital for sick children, since they're the only ones that don't hate him. It's actually kind of poignant.
  2. Lucas minimized Jar Jar’s presence and played up his annoyance in-universe which helped rehabilitate the character somewhat. The people behind Rose are doubling down.
  3. From what I understand that’s the plan. Because everyone who disagrees is a Nazi. Unless she dies in the first five minutes I don’t care. I remember reading the damn Thrawn trilogy, being excited, but nope, don’t care. Won’t spend another cent on this franchise.
  4. At least Jar Jar won his battle. Oh yeah, I went there. (And he is more tolerable in Clone Wars because everyone hating his guts is canon).
  5. Full Metal Panic 16.
  6. Can’t have that. There’s a rumor Episode 9 will involve a Rey/Kylo love child. Yeah...
  7. Even by the director’s own admittance she didn’t belong in the film. She was an idiot who made Finn less likable by association, and I really liked Finn in the TFA. He certainly wasn’t the coward TLJ portrayed him as. When his friend was in danger, his first instinct was to grab a lightsaber and charge the Sith Lord unsure if he could win. Here he needs Rose to act as a moral compass despite being completely unlikable and idiotic.
  8. Everyone is an idiot, an unlikable asshole, or both. It’s why I’m not going to watch Episode 9. Also Rose Tico is basically Jar Jar.
  9. Also, here's a trailer set to the 90's TV theme. This is definitely PS4's big first party release for fall. It even had an extended trailer during the first NFL game of the season. Good thing the game's good then, right?
  10. I don’t see how. It’s worth talking about the fact that more people are funding productions than before. Crunchyroll is late to the game, sure, but there’s other people doing it too. And that doesn’t count pseudo-anime/anime inspired work like Powerhouse studios productions of Castlevania (which went over well enough to get a second season) and the upcoming Seis Manos.
  11. I elaborated on that. It’s not so much that it’s the studio is exclusive, it’s that demand for the animu has increased by leaps and bounds thanks to all these services which means waiting periods.
  12. It reduces openings. Even if it’s a non-exclusive contract, the fact is the industry is operating at capacity.
  13. Sort of a spiritual successor to Metalocalypse after Lazzo screwed him over on it.
  14. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-01-31/netflix-to-co-produce-anime-with-production-i.g-bones-wit-studio/.127164 Netflix locked IG up at the start of the year.
  15. The news of Crunchyroll starting their own originals kinda bought this up, but it got lost in their release, which is now a topic I won’t discuss. That being said, it’s worth discussing how everyone and their mother seems to be throwing money at Japanese studios to make anime. Whether it’s Netflix greenlighting everything (the new Grappler Baki debuts this fall, Saint Seiya debuts next year, and they’re apparently still throwing money around for other projects) or DeMarco finally getting his FLCL fanfic animated, the fact remains that originals are becoming an increasingly big deal. So much so that according to some people, the industry is actually operating at capacity. With all that in mind, and Toonami having a notoriously stingy budget, do you see originals being a big deal for them, and if so, what project will DeMarco try to do next?
  16. Here's an old one - Just make sure you watch the end.
  17. Why hire the person whose comic was unceremoniously cancelled after sales dropped 90% to work on a show Nickelodeon rejected for original projects on a website that still uses Flash? See? I can throw out hyperbole too!
  18. It also just hit me that Spawn The Animation has been in limbo for years because no one will fund it to Todd MacFarlane’s vision, but they throw money at these assclowns. We live in the worst timeline.
  19. ...This gets made and not Cannon God Exaxxion...
  20. Dragons? This looks like a dumpster fire even more so.
  21. They copy everything the hell else.
  22. Imma keep it real with you chief. No one’s making a Cannon God Exaxxion anime.
  23. Gunsmith Cats was a lot of fun. 3 Episode OVA, adaptation of a much longer manga. Give it a watch when you have some time.
