Sword Art Online Alicization heading to Toonami January 18
Jman replied to Jman's topic in Toonami & [adult swim]
DeMarco is editing that shit. -
1. True, but it was...fairly easy to lay into. I dunno, I guess I was still in making fun of the pest mode, coupled with the anime being slow as molasses. 2. Shuri is the character from Black Panther, T’Challa’s sister who handles all the tech. And here’s the fake article. Quite the difference from the big breasted, money hungry redhead navigator, eh? A lot of French Twitters said that the actress needed to fuck off, she was ugly, the show was doomed if she played Nami, etc. 3. The Witcher series is based on the books, which come before the games. It’s also pretty good. I liked Mandalorian a lot as well, so both were good shows, giving OP big shoes to fill.

With CR as a key part of the service - I think they’re doing well if Business Daddy moved them into upgraded digs.

This show is pretty fun, but it’s much closer to Hercules: The Legendary Journeys than Thrones. And I haven’t thought about that show in forever.

Such is the fate of the franchise that’s been with Toonami since the beginning. https://www.cartoonnetwork.com/video/thundercats-roar/exodus-part-1-episode.html https://www.cartoonnetwork.com/video/thundercats-roar/exodus-part-2-episode.html The Bean Mouth trend is on its way out, mostly because these shows don’t make money and don’t draw product. I feel like this is the equivalent of the old Friday Night Death Slot.

Well I liked the metal cover. My point stands that The Witcher blew up during the holidays so it would make perfect sense to get a show with a similar aesthetic. -

I’d say get either Goblin Slayer or Shield Hero, even if they are older, so they can mooch off the popularity of a certain Netflix show. -

IIRC, the author made a pledge in an interview to stop using rape and sexual assault in his stories. Considering how bad the show has used those elements before, it’s welcome to hear. -
Reddit's Annual [as] Poll Results Are Out

Either I’ve fallen way out or Adult Swim has lost a lot of viewership from its peak in a post Netflix world, but besides Robot Chicken, Rick and Morty, and obvious show of the year Primal, I’m hard pressed to remember a lot of these shows. -

So I take it I was the only one who played Astral Chain. -

Japan seems into the “supernatural public service department” sub-genre this year. Anyone play Astral Chain on the Switch? Instead of super powered firemen, it’s cops with Stands. -

1. Even if you like the manga’s story, (and keep in mind I played Pirate Warriors 3 just to get relatively caught up a month ago) most people will contend that the anime...is a really bad adaptation of it. The pacing is glacial to the point of parody. The animation reflects the worst cost cutting methods of Toei. And you’re better off just reading the manga. 2. I remain fascinated by the franchise, since it is an institution literally everywhere but the US. Most of the people who wanted to beat down the lady who played Shuri when the fake rumor of her playing Nami hit? French. Despite 4Kids making “Yo Yo he took a bite of the Gum Gum” an eternal mark of shame, people still want to make OP a thing in the US. $9-$10 million an episode. For even an 8 episode, one hour per episode series, that is anywhere from $72-$80 million dollars. Enough money for most of this forum to live comfortably on for a very long time. And it’s being invested in trying to make One Piece the next Game of Thrones (even if The Witcher and The Mandalorian seems far more likely to capture that crown). I cannot be the only one who finds that fascinating.
