  1. It came up during WWE’s quarterly earnings report. Dave Meltzer mentioned it in his summary as did others.
  2. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-04-23/at-t-is-said-to-explore-sale-of-rooster-teeth-online-media-unit The debt is eternal.
  3. That and New Japan Pro Wrestling did it.
  4. https://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2021/04/22/viz-and-marvel-team-up-to-release-deadpool-samurai-manga-and-more-in-english?utm_source=community_cr&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=news_en&referrer=community_cr_twitter_news An English release is now official along with some other co-productions. Sadly Deadpool Samurai won't hit till early next year.
  5. Big West is going to begin to release all the post 1987 Macross content, and they're starting with Flashback 2012, a series of music videos that serve as an epilogue to Do You Remember Love? (the in-universe excuse being it's Lynn Minmay's farewell tour before leaving Earth on the SDF-2 Megaroad).
  6. Said franchise include - the Megazone 23 franchise, Hades Project Zeorymer, Dangaioh, the Bubblegum Crisis franchise, the Gall Force franchise, and the Tenchi Muyo! franchise. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2021-04-16/aic-toei-agency-sign-deal-to-co-own-megazone-23-tenchi-muyo-other-classic-anime/.171765 Pure oldhead material right here folks.
  7. Yeah, tell Sunrise and Legendary that. Sure they’ll listen. Casting is of course pending but now that the world is slowly restarting maybe we’ll hear something at one of the virtual conventions. And I ain’t going to front, I want to see Michael Bay Voltron just to have the opposite of the awful Dreamworks show.
  8. Netflix continues to try the corner a market no one else is focused on and Roberts now has another giant robot movie to work on (he’s directing Metal Gear). Between this, Sony throwing all that money to get Robotech going again, and rumors Universal wants to restart production on a Voltron movie with Michael Bay as director, the next few years may have a lot of giant robot films.
  9. Here’s hoping. Harmony Gold has said they would no longer try to block it, and they don’t want a cut of anything but the original Macross (In exchange for Big West recognizing them as the legitimate international distributor of the original series and Robotech as a valid use of the license).
  10. Second preview. Apparently JAM Project is remixing all the openings they did for various Getter shows for the previews. And people wonder why I hated Netflix Voltron so much.
  11. Not surprising. DeMarco is holding on to the rights of whatever he can lest Netflix air it.
  12. And now for the most bungled sequel since Highlander II.
  13. My assumption is Sony threw a shitload of money at everyone, but Big West acknowledges Robotech as its own thing, and Harmony Gold acknowledges it is not the global owner of Macross.
  14. The Final Four slaughtered everything else that night, but that was network television.
  15. Well the West utterly sucks at mecha, and the problem is the past few years a lot of the examples that have been mass market releases have been Western. I've made fun of Voltron ad nauseum on here, but the numbers don't lie about how badly those toys bombed. gen:Lock meanwhile barely got a second season but it was clear the initial reaction was rather poor. Also that Pacific Rim anime did get a renewal.
  16. You say that when the biggest movie of the weekend involved kaiju and mecha. Besides, if that was the case, Legendary Defender wouldn't have flopped due to its distinct lack of mecha. The West can't be bothered with shows airing at 2:30 am, especially the same day as the Final Four.
  17. It’s going to be back April 8 with Diamond is Unbreakable. https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/coming-soon/whats-coming-to-netflix-in-april-2021-03-31/
  18. Expect DeMarco to pick up the rights despite the shit ratings just to ensure Netflix can’t get it.
  19. At least those live action rumors went nowhere.
  20. Godzilla vs. Kong was surprisingly fun, so I'm going to hope he makes something like that.
  21. It was several years too early. The show perfectly fits the streaming demand for action animation, but not so much Cartoon Network. Also they saved all their ideas for the second season like morons.
  22. By the way, just for a sample of how bad this season gets -
  23. https://deadline.com/2021/03/director-adam-wingard-on-godzilla-vs-kong-that-thundercats-movie-the-face-off-sequel-more-1234724010/ Less than 4 months after Roar tanked. Can't keep an old franchise down.
  24. 4am. This is why streaming is kicking everyone’s ass.
