I think having the kids with the Ghibli elements is meant to be a purposeful contrast to the political thriller occurring with the adults.

HBO Max is essentially combining all of Warner’s available stuff into one Uber service, and Crunchyroll was specifically mentioned, along with TBS, TNT, CW, HBO, and DC Universe.

Michael B. Jordan, the star of the show, is a confessed anime fan, and cites Toonami and Gundam Wing as what got him into it. Meanwhile, RT likes putting their properties in series that are otherwise for Japanese stuff, like when RWBY showed up in a BlazBlue crossover game.

I’m convinced the time change is due to internal politics and Hulu. MHA continually crushes graphic novel sales and Hulu views, essentially being a cottage industry into itself. Also last week’s airing gained on the show before it.

I actually kinda hope this does confirm a season 2, so Michael B. Jordan can achieve his true goal. Being in a new Super Robot Wars entry and getting to interact with the cast of Gundam Wing. You KNOW he would be all over that.

She’s gone on record saying being in a voice booth is a lot less of a commitment than Thrones was.

All I remember from AIC is them launching a bunch of Kickstarters for their properties and the only ones to get funded were Megazone 23 ones.

Snyder's job of making needlessly bleak shows is already covered.

It doesn’t matter how big your show is, if you air it a year after the fact, edited down, people will watch elsewhere. Good example - Fire Force seems pretty cool one episode in. If it takes 18 months to air it on Toonami, no one will care because they saw it.

Gee, it’s almost like trying to mess with a company backed by Sony lawyers is a bad idea.

DVD only is only done when your show is so unpopular you know no one will care. Case in point - Voltron Legendary Defender.

Depends if this is a ratings issue or a “Fucking FUNimation is stiffing is by going with Hulu” issue.

You need some of the actors advertising it on their social media. That MIGHT help. Key word might.

Gundam bested Food Wars and that’s an OVA that was available for a year on Hulu. Damn good one, a tale of political intrigue and personal tragedy, but one that makes you ask “what happens next”? And I think the series will say “To be continued, in 2021 at a theatre near you!” LA Gundam billion dollar box office imminent.

In this case it does. It is all the shows from the former DC Universe, all the HBO Now shows, all the TNT and TBS, and all the Crunchyroll and Rooster Teeth First content.

The executives are beginning to plan for HBO Max, which will include Crunchyroll and AS originals. Toonami may get the short end of the stick here.
