What baffles ME is that instead of everyone upvoting one or two posts everyone keeps insisting on asking the same question as everyone else and getting the same response from me each time. What new information do you think you're going to get out of me from asking the same question five other people asked and the same response from me of "It's easy to not know when you don't care and its irrelevant to me." It''s fine if it baffles you but does everyone have to ask the same fucking question like they are the first do do so when a) almost every regular who has posted today has already asked and got a response from me and b) it's not even an important part of the thread?

Not really. I almost never let it get to the point where the light comes on. When i fill my tank, I generally end up adding anywhere from around 5-9 gallons into my tank. Not purposely getting any of those numbers, it just stops and when I look up it's somewhere in that range. But again, my tank isn't on E, like ever. How much gas was in the tank before I filled up? I don't know. So a random mystery amount + anywhere from 5 to 9 gallons depending equals something I never cared to figure out.

Why. Why the hell is everyone so fixated on this. Everyone in the thread: "You don't know how big your tank is???? How do you even live??????" Me: "Uh, very easily....?" I don't know my computer monitor's resolution without looking it up. Same for my TV's resolution, or even size in inches. I don't know what kind of cartridges my printer takes without checking. Hell, I don't know what model printer I have without looking. I don't remember what brand my earbuds are. Is everyone gasping at all that too? How can I not know all this? Because none of it fucking matters, that's how! Who the fuck cares? The real world experience in the OP was purely for expositional purposes to explain how my train of thought got to what I THOUGHT was a bizarre thought that was the entire point of the thread, that apparently is, while still unreasonable in its own right, is still not as bizarre as not knowing how big one's gas tank is.

I don't entirely understand what you're describing in the part I highlighted but the parts above are good points.

I almost never let it get to the light. Right now my current routine is to fill up every thursday morning after my chiropractor appointment. That way, unless I do a lot more driving on any given weekend than I usually do, I have plenty of gas to for the weekend through my work week and fill up again the following thursday. My dad did a whole lot of driving for his career and when I started driving he told me he always fills his tank when it's about half empty because he didn't want to be stranded, and I kinda followed suit, just because, even though I never had to drive anywhere near aa much.

I was referring to this: I never trolled this person this was just a scenario my wandering brain came up with way after the fact. I thought the idea that you could ask for a billion dollars worth of gas with no consequences funny. And that just led my mind to demanding seeing the guy strike the 0 key nine times. As a hypothetical scenario this is funny to me but I'd never do that irl because I like to think I'm not an asshole.
