The covid protocols for Dragon Con went up yesterday and behold the bitching. There's still a cap on attendance just to keep the traffic flowing. There's no purchase at the site to speed things through but you can purchase online while standing in line so I'm guessing no one is going to have a real issue with that [ I've seen people watch whole shows in line, purchasing a tix is nothing to them ] . You won't have to provide a vaccine card or negative test at the site this year but indoor masks are still mandated. Atlanta is currently tied with Texas for 4th worst numbers for covid and monkeypox right now so mask - which were mandatory last year - are still mandatory. So many people bitching about masks and demanding their money back...on something that was mandatory last year so they should have more than prepared themselves for the likelihood that yes, masks would still be a thing. The amount of anti-vaxxers popping out of the woodwork is ridiculous. And all I can think of is good, you won't be going because fabric over your face somehow scares the shit out of someone who would otherwise be cosplaying as someone in a massively padded costume in the Atlanta humidity, more space for me and my ginormous bag of swag.

They are all having a family vacation at some lake somewhere that's been a tradition for so long that they still do it even now though the family is scattered. The donuts were okay. I've had fresh from the drizzle-oven Krispy Kremes though so my pallet has been forever tainted. But the coffee just seemed kind of burnt even for being a supposed fresh batch. I've gotten better flavor profile from 1 parts Cameron Highlanders Grog to 3 parts Folgers French Vanilla.

Sometimes I do wonder. But I also think, there is something to be said for having a steady day off every week to actually make plans for or sleep in or whatever. Since they don't open on Sundays because CHURCH, that means all their employees get that day off every week, even during holidays, whether they go to any church or just get blitzed Saturday night and sleep it off the next day. I'd still require an actual living wage paycheck from them and not sammiches though.

My bills are currently all caught up. If I won the lotto, most of that would go into something like a Roth IRA and savings accounts. While I might end up moving to a condo or something at some point it would be a slow process that no one would notice anything weird about. Barring that, maybe just moving to the second floor with a balcony and second bedroom to be turned into a library / crafting room which would still be something within reason for me. There would be a trip to B&N though. That shit is happening. And then it would be back to figuring out how to be Batman with charitable donations. I could order backpacks directly from the manufacturers and have them anonymously donated to the United Way for their school supplies drive.

I thought Dr Drew was MTV? Love Line with Dr Drew and Adam Corolla. I haven't really watched VH1 or MTV in probably a decade, at the least. It was all moving away from music even in the 90's and just went down the toilet after the 00's started. My cable company doesn't even carry them anymore. I think the only time I catch any of it is if I'm at a hotel and there's a clipshow marathon on MTV and nothing else is on. Then it's background noise.
