  1. Yes.. I believe so... That's all a school bus driver needs is class b I think. But the test is broken down in portions or something.. There's a general knowlege practice test I was given that has over 200 questions... Most if not all of them are common sense though more or less. The actual tests arent that lengthy, but you know.. the practice tests are meant to cover the variations of questions I'll be asked on the real test.
  2. It's not like this shit is a calculus exam I know.. but I was planning on going to the local DPS to knock out these tests for the company I'm supposed to work for, and I'm not sure I'm ready to pass all of them at least.. Especially since theres one that deals specifically with air brakes. I might have to wait on that one. Also I could have spent more time studying today, but I had family things, and military recruiters distracting me. I'm almost positive I can pass the first 2 without more study anyway. I'm a bit nervous because different trucks and vehicles have so many different lighting requirements based on their size and purpose etc.. and the practice test questions have a few tricks up their sleeve.
  3. Yes. Thanks for blessing us with your presence for so many years old chap.
  4. The thing is.. With me already training to be a bus driver.. I can free up my weekend almost though I have to call the company, and do a bit more digging I'm not 100% sure, but when I get MOS qualified as an 88M according to my info I already have all the certs to drive a bus outside of the military.. So the tests I've been cramming for I probably wouldn't even have to take... Plus 20K up front. which is not an incentive bonus I can really shake a stick at.
  5. The reason I bumped this thread is because I don't want to make a lot of job related threads or spam too much, but I've been more than inundated with possibilities atm.. I havent even seen the full list of opportunities with the guard yet, but 0_0 I think 88M is my best option.. EXCEPT with signing any military contract.. I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up deployed with this unit driving HETS (Heavy Equipment Transport...Whatever the S is I forgot). as a UAV operater one of the people I worked with was deployed as a fueler.. and I've heard some stories. I bet that's an amazing feeling.. Driving a massive ass truck tractor/trailer combo with a bunch of tanks on it (I say that because it's also a massive target) So many feels right now.
  6. I mean that sounds fun, and all but it..honestly leaves me with a lot of questions. I can't really say my shooting record is superb anyway unfortunately. At first glance looking at 11B sniper as a job option just kind of makes me laugh. Also just so you know I'm not sure I have the balls for any 11B position.. I'd love to have the skills, but I'm really not trying to be a bullet sponge. I mean.. no disrespect by that at all either. I mean the opposite.
  7. https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=zetta slow Not insinuating anything here. I've already seen what google and urban dictionaries have to say about my user name, and it was made before all the articles or whatever.. Maybe I should've got a copyright ..
  8. So there's like three MOSs or jobs I'm looking at.. 25U -radio/IT signal support..(basically the IT guys of the army)- This is the most relevant to my actual career interests, but it's pretty popular and there's only one position to fill so no sign on bonus. 68W- combat medic..which is pretty much self explanitory. I'm not sure how this position would work in the guard and how the MOSQ training would be..I've heard stories from some medics that they had to operate on live goats and other animals in AIT. but there's a 20k bonus.. and I'm already pretty medically inclined. I've thought about training for positions like EMT/firefighter etc in the past but I've never actually felt compelled to I guess.. 88M- Truck driver.. I know on the active side the AIT (advanced individual training) probably requires you to drive every wheeled vehicle in the arsenal, but for the guard it's a shorter course.. and I've already been studying for a bus driver position for my outside job.. This to has a 20K sign on bonus. It's pretty hard to pass up a freakin' 20K sign uo bonus especially when the MOS is relevant to my outside job, but my gut tells me to go with 25U.. To be honest I'm probably not going to like being a bus driver, and I'd probably hate being a semi truck driver even worse. I just want the commercial drivers license for other jobs that don't require so much extensive travel, but still require a commercial drivers license.
  9. There's not mutch to be got honestly. I'm not sure what they were going for with the ending. The characters and acting made it a good watch for me though, and I liked the carnival score they had going. I think the film might just be taking place in that clowns mind.. the girl is his dead daughter..that he may or may not have killed out of anger/ frustration since she was never happy, and thought his clown gig was stupid.
  10. I'm waiting to see what kind of MOS (or jobs) are available that will let me drill at the closest city near me... The recruiter said there's comms jobs available so that might be what I do. I'm probably going to pick something in the IT field if I can.
  11. army.. I thought about the air national guard, but they don't have any units close to my house.
  12. I might go active or volounteer for other stuff if I decide to get in anyway if I get bored or need more money. Right now I'm studying for my cdl and training to be a bus driver, and the guard just seems like I good thing to go along with it.
  13. Because I already have time served and time spent in a combat zone, and the guard gives me access to the same benefits I had without having to do it over again.
  14. Gotta love those encouraging recruiters though huh. Supposingly he's going to pull my line scores from the original ASVAB I took that I aced, and give me a list of jobs based off that so that's exciting.. not that it matters that much anyway for the whole weekend warrior thing idk. Until I see the opportunities and bonuses I'm not doing anything. I know recruiters are only out there to fill some spots and get their numbers when it comes down to it..
  15. Oh.. Well then welcome to my life for the last decade or so.. I've honestly been thinking of just trying to get into the IT field so I can have a more sizable amount of job opportunities, and not have to say.. follow the action or political discontent around with a flying camera.. Idk. I might try to get into the national guard either way, I might just stay inactive and keep working towards my cdl to work for this bus company if I can work a plan around it.. I'm having to form one of those comprehensive plans atm my bad.. I don't really want to carry on about it too long in your thread or UE in general..just saying it kind of has me feelin' like "the future's uncertain; the end is always near"
  16. It's still in the same field though isn't it? Doing the same job? You made it sound like you would just have to change your methods of accomplishing the same task.. That's not really the same thing as learning a completely different trade.
  17. Atleast you're not having to reevaluate your career path or learn other skillsets atm.. This recruiter might offer me some pretty sizable bonuses just to get back into my old career field though for all I know. He mentioned there being plenty of need for it at the Texas borders now..Now I'm trying to think about it. I loved my job honestly, but it's not one of those fields where you can find work anywhere. I've been trying not to have to move these last few years. Who knows though maybe a better option will present it's self.
  18. Congrats man. Welcome back to the working world. I'm getting unemployment atm so I know how you feel. I probably would have been able to live off my savings, but the company pissed me off, and the managers or whoever lied to the UE office even so I don;t feel bad. I'll probably be paying the shit back on my taxes anyway.
  19. The weather's been rainy, and I'm still more or less unemployed so I just took a mid day nap. I got woken up by a national guard recruiter that sounds pretty eager to sell some contracts to me, and about 52 pages of practice tests to study for this bus driving gig AND a physical tomorrow though so yay I guess.
  20. Can I get a copy of that report for my records. I wonder how much that site charges you to generate a report based off public records you can probably find yourself for free. I had a meeting to go to when I saw this earlier.
  21. I hope all you fucks that dig for dirt and personal info on here found that one useful.
