  1. ^ That's what happens when someone opens a page with the hooha on it.
  2. They really went overboard with with Susie's mother in Rugrats. She's a Harvard-educated doctor who also studied as at the Cordon Bleu, is a talented pianist, makes lamps, knows how to fly planes, and somehow finds time to be a dedicated wife and mother . . . and with all these talents, they made her Tommy's neighbor. I'm sure a woman like her would have a mansion with maids and shit.
  3. I'm making chicken biryani and for the first time, raita. I bought this chili powder from the Indian store that said extra hot . . . let's just see how this goes. I wonder just how horrible my kitchen smells to people, considering that I cook a wide variety of cuisines that have pungent smells. Masala from Indian, soy sauce from Chinese and Japanese, fish sauce from Thai, oregano from Italian, etc.
  4. Most Aldi products are of an OK quality, but the spaghetti noodles are exceptionally subpar.
  5. Hiragana is derived from Chinese characters written in cursive. Letters that weren't accepted into hiragana have a peculiar name: hentaigana.
  6. I made these burgers from Aldi. 24 quarter pound patties for 15 dollars. Pretty damn good price. I also might have drank a little too much. 🙃
  7. It's fine. I probably should give up one or the other . . . probably the potatoes. Rice is my favorite. Anyway, no digestive issues for me, but I know this probably is a glycemic overload.
  8. My food actually looks photogenic today but my table is so hideous. Slow cooked pork wirh sauerkraut, green beans, mashed potatoes, and rice.
  9. Leftover biryani with palak paneer. Not gonna lie, even though it was tasty af, it looks like a Packard abomination 😭
  10. I made chicken biryani myself for the first time. Jesus, was this labor intensive, even though I used a spice packet. The end result was good, although the texture was more like a rice porridge than a biryani. The taste was just right, and I added habanero peppers to make it hot, which fortunately came out to the level of hotness I wanted. I think I'll make it again. So much cheaper than getting it at a restaurant.
  11. My favorite takeout chicken hibachi with Ito En oolong tea.
  12. Joking aside, I seriously would.
  13. Thank God you are alive and unscathed, ghostrek. I would have eaten 10k calories in one sitting if something bad happened to you.
  14. I learned from my Indian friend that Duolingo gives official English tests similar to TOEFL that can be used to get into universities. Interesting, considering native English speakers tend to only know about the Duolingo app.
  15. I don't think so. Many younger gamers like Breath of the Wild the most, and Majora's Mask has now taken quite a bit of attention from Ocarina of Time away, as gamers finally begun to appreciate it more.
  16. What are some of your favorite instances of it being done? I bring this up because I thought of the one scene in Kill la Kill introducing Harime Nui. The show is full of huge titles that we assume are only visible to us, but then we are given a different angle of the character, revealing that the titles also exist in their universe.
  17. spaghetti just now. I could have eaten earlier, but no. I gotta caramelize the onions and shit. Makes the process significantly longer, but always worth it.
  18. I never liked Rick and Morty, even back in its heyday. I found that Mr. Meeseeks shit to be completely insufferable to the point I wanted nothing to do with the show. I do love Futurama, though.
  19. Another interesting thing that Spanish shares with Japanese is the frequent dropping of pronouns in a sentence. In English, this often sounds colloquial or improper, but it is completely natural and grammatically correct in those two languages. Shit, now I'm being a huge linguistic nerd 🤓😭
  20. o tanjoubi omedetou, nameraka san
  21. I think I've fallen in love with the Spanish language. The spelling is so consistent, even though it's spoken in so many countries, the vowels are all pure like they are in Japanese, and it has such an interesting culture from things like pirates, Don Quixote, and the fountain of youth. Honestly, better to fall in love with a language than a human these days. 😭
  22. wow https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hikikomori
  23. Duolingo for Japanese is garbage. I caught multiple mistakes for kanji readings. I don't trust it to refresh my Japanese. I am using it for Spanish now. From what I heard, Duolingo is very good for Spanish, French, and German.
