I feel like killing him is the right thing to do. Roman surviving is supposedly the canon version. It makes more sense for Packie to leave to Los Santos after his sister dies. It doesn't make sense for Niko to spare Darko's life but then choose revenge. My favorite is choosing to spare Darko and choosing deal. Roman dying gives the whole thing a film noir vibe it was going for. Niko can easily make money in America, but he can never be close to anyone, just like in Serbia.
