The director of the first season, Shingo Natsume is really good and has a good eye for talent and attention to detail, he co-directed Space Dandy too and he's not directing this season =/ That doesn't necessarily mean Season 2 will be bad though, anime fans are always dramatic and wanna make snap judgements based on trailers with 15 seconds of actual footage, take whatever the hyped seasonal crowd says with a grain of salt, positive or negative.

I feel like a lot of people were saying that about Spring last year, but yeah it's pretty good. Dororo is the highlight for me, reminds me of a classic action series crossed with something like Mushishi, I've pretty much come to expect this level of story telling from anything Tezuka wrote.

Also Eagles need a new defensive coordinator, Jim Schwartz is fucking garbage, all he ever does is rush the front four, never blitzes and plays zone or prevent coverage, I miss Jim Johnson, this guy play calls like he's scared. The only reason our defense ever looks good is because of our players.

It's funny how the cons of Dogshit Slayer have been articulated in this thread yet none coming to its defense have argued a single point as to convince anyone this show is worthwhile. Yes, I get it's just mindless entertainment with no character development whatsoever that's exactly why I'm saying this show sucks, there are dozens of seasonal muck nowadays that manage to achieve this level of mediocrity, maybe some fans have just begun to accept it as par for the course.

Feel like this film was probably overshadowed by Your Name and A Silent Voice in 2016, but I watched it recently on Netflix and loved it. It's a WWII anime so it's pretty depressing but not as thoroughly depressing as Grave of the Fireflies imo (has some lighter content in the first half) If you've seen it, what did you think of it?

I feel like the year Rakugo aired changed that...2016 I think.
