  1. @GunStarHero You look so pretty and so glowing!
  2. Easy Homemade Apple Fritters 1 cup all purpose flour 1/4 cup sugar 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/3 cup milk 1 egg 1 cup chopped apple Glaze: •2 cups powdered sugar •1 1/2 tablespoons milk Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, cinnamon. Stir in milk and egg until just combined. Fold in apple. Pour oil into skillet so that it is approximately 1.5 in. deep. Heat oil on high. Oil is ready when a little dough thrown in floats to top. Carefully add dough to oil in heaping teaspoons. Cook until brown, about 2 minutes, then flip. Cook another 1-2 minutes, until both sides are browned. Transfer briefly to paper towels to absorb excess oil, then transfer to cooling rack. Make glaze by stirring milk and powdered sugar together in a small bowl. Drizzle over apple fritters. Wait approximately 3 minutes for glaze to harden, then flip fritters and drizzle glaze over the other side. Best served warm.
  3. Kielbasa and rice for dinner tonight.
  4. WHY? Adult Swim and its fanbase got Family Guy un-cancelled in the first place!
  5. Now, thinking about how happy I am now that the pharmacy refilled my antiboyotics. 🏳️‍⚧️ Still giving serious thought to orchi, though. If a hurricane or other storm ever knocks out Walgreens' server again, then I'll only have to worry about estradiol refills. Maybe progesterone if I have my doctor add that in.
  6. The only way we can go through menopause is if we went off our estrogen entirely. We trans women can't make our own estrogen so we have to take it for life, even after having bottom surgery. The only thing we don't have to take after having orchi and/or vaginoplasty/vulvoplasty is testosterone-blockers. We can go on a lower dose of estrogen, but we can't go off it entirely. That said, I couldn't sleep last night knowing I was down to my last spiro pill. I'll have to call the pharmacy about the refill. Maybe I might call my insurance, too, and see what's going on. First, the pharmacy received my order, then they texted me the next day saying it was too soon to refill. How the hell is that too early when I had a few pills left in the bottle? Hence why I'm now looking into orchi. Think I might do that first, follow up with electrolysis, then go back to have a vaginoplasty at a later date.
  7. Waiting for Walgreens to get my spironolactone refills in. The pharmacy counter was closed today because of the holiday, and I'm critically low on Spyro the Dragon. Worried I'll run out. I also got a Facebook post from my mom's best friend, "Anna", about Walgreens' server fucking up most of their Delaware locations because of the damage from remnants of Hurricane Ida, thus delaying refills for people. Not sure if my local store is one of the affected stores, though. Meanwhile, I'm now looking into bottom surgery. I'm debating with myself on whether I want to have orchiectomy first, then do electrolysis/laser hair removal and go back for vaginoplasty at a later date or to just have a vaginoplasty in one fell swoop. Either way, I won't have to take spiro anymore, only estradiol. But the next time I see my hormone doctor, I may ask her about adding progesterone to the mix.
  8. From the space shuttle episode of Cowboy Bebop: "Blue Sox fans never leave the game early!" And I'm not even a sports fan. But I apply that mantra to daily life.

  10. For me, it was Big O, Kikaider, Trigun, and the red jacket Lupin III series. That's not to say I didn't watch anime before. Like every '90s kid, I cut my teeth on that holy triangle of Sailor Moon, Pokémon, and Dragon Ball Z. There was also Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo, and Ronin Warriors later on. My interest in anime exploded with my discovery of the stuff on Adult Swim, though. And now I've watched more than 700 different shows, movies, and OVAs--far more than what most people watch in their entire lives.
  11. Way to make me feel old. I'll admit, I didn't discover Adult Swim until 2003. Came for the Family Guy and Futurama reruns, stayed for the anime.

  13. Going to this cottage my dad's side of the family owned in Slower Lower Delaware as a kid. I spent two summers there and never wanted to go back to our house in bumfuck southern Maryland. I even wanted to live there. And now I live in a different part of DE but still near where that cottage was. In other words, I ended up living in a vacation spot. Then there were a couple times when my parents and I went to Baltimore and one before that when we went to D.C. For my dad, it wasn't much of a vacation because he had to be there for a boat show. He managed a marina at the time and they sent him to promote the joint. For my mom and I, it was a vacation. We stuck to the harbor and thereabouts for the most part, visiting the Maryland Science Center, the National Aquarium, and a couple malls. I LOVED it. One time, we went off the beaten path and stumbled upon a Korean grocery store. The owner hooked me up with some Korean candy. Good times.
