  1. Has Luffy ever used a sword before? Probably has, but I can't remember a time. Either way, I doubt Bellamy's swords are strong enough to cut the threads. I mean the birdcage ones sliced through all sorts of stuff, so they're probably reinforced with Doflamingo's haki or something.
  2. Kraven 6/10 The Invisible Raptor 7/10 (Ridiculous idea, but it had a lot of really funny moments, so I can't really knock it.) Nosferatu 1/10 Geez. At first I was like, "this can't be near all that bad as it was made to sound here." There's just so much wasted time in it though with a number of scenes where characters are just slowly walking and walking for like a minute or two it feels like with absolutely nothing happening. I mean that in itself is not so bad, but then having to sit through all of that for an ending that's like "are you freaking kidding me?!" I don't want to say anything real spoilery, but just... stupidest vampire story ending ever.
  3. Translation: totally full of crap. When people ask you to explain how you're going to accomplish something you're just being sarcastic about, you don't try to concoct a serious answer about it; you say "I was just being sarcastic." You especially don't go repeating it over and over and over and over and over again without clarifying at some point that you just mean it to be taken as a joke.
  4. Cuz of the smoke, passengers had to get out on one of the wings while the waited for the stairs to be brought over. Had to be pretty scary for them, but thankfully no fatalities. Read an update about the Medjet crash in Philly. They discovered the black box didn't record any audio, and they suspect it hadn't actually been recording anything for several years it turns out. They're still investigating to see what other data they might be able to get from it, but it's starting to look like they may never get to the bottom of what exactly caused that one.
  5. https://www.politico.com/news/2025/03/14/trump-doj-speech-prison-opponents-00231438 This speech was just so much awful that you just can't count the ways. It included calls for the lawyers who prosecuted him (calling some of them out by name) to be imprisoned, labeling news networks that are unfriendly to him as "corrupt" and "illegal", and several minutes of praise for his favorite judge Aileen Cannon, which included a blatant attack on free speech saying that simply criticizing her and other judges he likes basically should be illegal and that people should go to jail for it. Ignoring the hypocrisy of course of how many times he's attacked specific judges himself. Sad thing is, most of this was really nothing all that new or anything he hasn't said in one way or another before at his rallies. It's where he was spewing all this crap from that was most notable. It's just a constant pushing of the line of people's perception of what can be considered tolerable behavior. Every day. Every day just a little bit further. That's how he does it. He makes the people around him accept one indignity after another, till the ones supporting him are willing to look the other way at just about anything. It took a little while, but we're pretty much at that point already now.
  6. U.S. citizen child recovering from brain cancer deported to Mexico with undocumented parents Other than lacking “valid immigration status in the U.S.,” the parents have “no criminal history,” Woodward said. But of course. Every time you think we can't sink to a new low... Badda boom! There ya go. Anyone remember a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away when we still had this magical little thing called compassion? Yeah, I didn't think so.
  7. Finally! Hard to understand why it took Luffy this long to pull out second gear. Was he trying to get a feel for Doflamingo's attacks, or was he just not pissed off enough yet? LOL Oh well, too bad gotta wait another week to see him start taking the gloves off. But dang, Law losing an arm! Did not expect to see that.
  8. Yakko, Wakko, and Dot seem downright normal by comparison. That's the craziest part.
  9. Heated clash: Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau’s post-tariff call reportedly turns explosive, filled with profanity and tense exchanges Something tells me this part of the trade war at least ain't gonna end anytime soon, especially since it seems to have considerably strengthened Trudeau's liberal party's position heading into the upcoming elections there, taking them from what looked like a total wipeout to having a solid shot at actually winning. Talk about unintended consequences, heh.
  10. After World War II we basically made them put in their constitution that they can't have any kind of real army. How the f*@! are they supposed to protect us?! Seriously, somebody there should just tell him they have an emperor. If he thinks someone like a Sith Lord in charge there, he might actually show them some real respect and lay off.
  11. Oh I know about them. That's why I said it. Saw some of the original movie I think as a kid and only thing that kept me from falling asleep more than them was being taken unwillingly by an uncle of mine one time to see Nightmare on Elm Street at the theater, unbeknownst to my parents (who never would have let me watch it) when he was supposed to be taking me to see some other movie. Actually, it was more like hear Nightmare on Elm Street, cuz I distinctly remember I was so scared I covered my eyes throughout the whole thing.
  12. Trump changes course, delays tariffs on most imports from Mexico until April ::rubs neck:: Anyone else feeling a little whiplash? This whole tariff thing has just become a big joke. Nay, it probably always was. I was thinking this all might be intended to create chaos in the markets and open up opportunities for people in the circle around him to make a big grift off the ups and downs, but it just seems so haphazard that it's probably too generous to ascribe any kind of rational thought to what's more likely just pure buffoonery.
  13. Thanks. I'm gonna see that thing in my nightmares now for sure. Why exactly do they want to bring the wooly mammoth back now though? Seriously. Do they actually want to restart the species and release them into the arctic or something? Cuz that just sounds nuts, or would we just keep them like in a zoo or something for study? I can't imagine they would adapt well to captivity.
  14. I don't think they should have bothered to show up in the first place. You know it's gonna be just a toxic lie fest, so what's the point? But again, don't really think it matters. It's all the other stuff that does. That's where they need to get their act together and make a solid stand. I agree with you 100% on that.
  15. They've got plenty of motivation. There's the coming economic pain we're all likely to be feeling pretty soon, and the motivation to not live under a dictatorship any longer. What a congressperson chooses to do at what's become a totally meaningless event, I can't imagine that really is gonna motivate anyone.
  16. To me I see this as the difference between a group that has those that act upon what they individually believe is the best thing to do, and one that all receives their marching orders from the same place, reads from the same script, and repeats the same talking points ad nauseum like a bunch of mindless stormtroopers for fear of falling out of step with the group and being drummed out. Would it have been better optics for the other democrats to back him up and all walk out together? Of course, but would it really make any difference in the grand scheme of things? Would it really change a single person's mind? C'mon. Democrats are disorganized by nature, and realistically no matter what they do in congress it's not gonna change anything. Any real resistance that has the chance to stop any of what's been going on is going to have to come from the public ultimately.
  17. Didn't watch any of it, but from the sounds of it he didn't just touch the third rail of social security, but took out a sharpie and drew a bright red target on it. I always expected them to go after Medicaid and maybe even Medicare to an extent, but Social Security I thought was still a bridge too far even for them. Not so sure about that anymore.
  18. Elon Musk’s $1 Spending Limit Is Paralyzing Federal Agencies The DOGE-mandated credit card freeze is delaying shipments of critical supplies, stalling travel, and stopping employees from doing their jobs. So they keep claiming they're firing people that don't show up for work or aren't getting anything done, when they're going out of their way to throw up roadblocks like this to prevent them from doing just that. I mean, seriously?! There's just no level of treachery that's out of bounds anymore I guess. I keep thinking there's nothing they can do that will surprise me anymore, and yet day after day... SMH
  19. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/mar/02/zelenskyy-offers-no-apology-to-trump-as-he-says-row-brought-nothing-positive Ukraine “will never” recognise any Russian annexation of territory it occupies, even if it is to try to secure a peace deal, Zelenskyy added, and he repeated that he would only accept a ceasefire if it was followed by robust security guarantees that had the confidence of his country’s people. Though Russia has said it will insist on incorporating territories that it occupies, for Ukraine it would always be “a temporary occupation”, Zelenskyy insisted, even if his country lacks the military muscle to expel Russia from all of the country at the moment. I.E. they want the territory back but are willing to let it go for purposes of getting a deal, but not without getting a solid security guarantee. Of course, we know that's something Putin and his little puppet are never going to give them. That's forcing Zelensky to work with Europe to try and hammer something out that they could find acceptable. Heh, Trump cut them out negotiations, and now they're returning the favor. That's justice for ya. Bottom-line though, seems to be there's just no fixing this mess sadly. U.S. isn't going to help Ukraine, and the sooner everyone accepts that and moves on from depending on us the better. Fortunately, seems Zelensky has gotten the message loud and clear and is only keeping the door open to still making a deal with the U.S. for the purpose of optics. I'm pretty sure he knows there's no chance of it really happening now. The question I think now is has the rest of Europe and the free world really settled with that, and I'm not sure they have just yet.
  20. Frieza don't know it yet, but he's just been the author of his own demise.
