I don’t want to marginalize their voices, because they’re among the most enthusiastic players of our game, who really do carry our message out into the wider community. I really think one of Pokémon Go’s traits, though, is its diversity of audience. One of the things I often note to my team is that when I look at the data, the median player of Pokémon Go is probably someone like a Singaporean grandma, who walks for 30 minutes to an hour a day with her senior group in the morning to catch Pokemon and very, very occasionally raids, if at all. Those are folks who are playing daily, who are a core part of our audience, [and] who are actually an essential part of the entire distribution of this incredibly diverse community. So when we talk about the sustainability of the overall long-term game economy, we do have to pay attention to all of those segments. And so the dominance of Remote Raid Passes in a large and important part of our total player base does have to be addressed for the long-term overall health and sustainability of the game. So I don’t want to diminish the kind of impact of those changes on those folks. I Can say for sure I got all the genie looking “Us” family that way (thundurus tornadus landrus all forms) they don’t play the game they have this idea in their head and they stick to that. I remember when ex raids first became a thing each ex raid gym was on a different rotation of days and times usually takin about 4-6 weeks to get either a weekend or evening time. I remember when they added the ability to invite people to them as well. An addition that was prior to the pandemic and it was greatly appreciated. anyway, the way none of the raids are staggered and only having 30 minutes to do them is just asking for trouble. On Staten Island many people play driving in large groups, like a caravan. Idiots like that are gonna cause an accident running from one gym to the next. Even people on bicycles ride like idiots too trying to get to as many gyms as possible. Would have been nice to be able to look at campfire and say “I’ll try this gym at this time and these two at those times” instead of being stuck only being able to do one raid. 1pooh4u Posted April 23, 2023 Author Share Posted April 23, 2023 About a week ago I shut off adventure sync and switched location data to “only while using” oddly within a day or so I started having log in issues with the game. I had to turn the shit back on to see if the issue would persist. I think the issue did continue but only if I was on wifi which was weird but I’m not ready to say “Me changing location data access and the issues logging on weren’t connected” even though all issues continued when I turned it back on. I can't remember when was the last time I had a 7 day streak. Since I live in a rural area on a highway, there are no safe gyms near me to walk to, and I'm out of remote raid passes. *Sigh* I wish they hadn't gotten greedy once most folks were back outside again. Maybe it wouldn't irk me so much if living in a rural area wasn't a daily bane of my existence that makes everything harder than it needs to be since Covid came.
