Going cash free?

In a truly capitalist society, even going 100% cash free and doing all commerce electronically won't stop crime.

Take high level drug dealing, for instance.  How does one move $500k in meth without being tracked and registered when there's no more untraceable cash?

Answer:  Art.  Prices in art are fluid.  There's no material expenditure chain.  It's not like the artist is building cars, with every bolt, gear and spring accounted for.  Seven or eight dollars in paint or canvas could be sold for twenty dollars or a half million dollars.

So, every quarter ton of meth being sold out the back door looks like a gaudy painting being sold to a "collector" out the front door.  The DEA and IRS will think it's all legitimate.

using art as a cover for drug transactions is nothing new 🙄

It's just going to spread like fire does in sage brush fields if the cash free concept ever comes to fruition.

Yet, the concept is often advocated as a means of removing the underground economy.  You don't see that as a lie?

Soon as everyone finds out how flimsy that system really is, it will be in the dust bin, along side pet rocks and Beanie Babies.

Mmhmmm… and what do you know of crypto and its stability?

It's a thing that has no value whatsoever to back it and it's getting bought and sold at preposterous prices to every rube that thinks the bubble won't bust.

It's just like the "invisible" sculpture that was recently sold for $18k.

What’s the difference between crypto and the American dollar?

The dollar has not had gold backing for many years.  Yet, there is an international agreement that it is the standard of trade in the production and movement of crude oil.

That's why Russia and China are trying to devalue the dollar and replace the standard with the yuan or ruble.

as I understand it, anyone moving that much money has a business front they launder it with. this is basic drug shit homie, it ain’t new.

So, the point of this thread is not about the front system being novel, but rather about the cash free monetary system being sold like snake oil as a means of stopping crime.  Why do proponents of cashless have to lie?

maybe 300 years too late

not 600

and if we're counting Somalian pirates, i'm not late at all

Actually, pirates are a global thing, when you count all the smugglers.  They don't keep parrots on their shoulders or shiver any timbers.

But, can anyone tell me about marauding pirates and where they are predominantly found?

i wonder if packard realizes the people pushing the benefits of cashless, are the exact same ones who stand to profit the most from cashless commerce.

and yet, that the benefits still exist.

Like what?  There's no way it could benefit me.

Proponents of cashless claim it's a crime stopper.  It's their number one selling point.  And, it's not at all true.

That means that the only idiots are people who believe the lie.

Go back to watching Alex Jones and sniffing model glue loser

Details?

Where to start:

In a cashless society, Packard will starve to death because he won't be able to buy mystery meat from his favorite corner market.

In a cashless society, Packard will become a drug mule by selling his half assed kanji characters and erotic school girl drawings for millions to cover the illicit sale of kava root.

In a cashless society, Packard doesn't know his pension fund was busted because he forgot the PIN number to his debit card.

I could go on....

Kava root isn't even regulated in America, let alone outlawed.

Okay, so what is your very best argument in favor of it?

did you know that the average us dollar has traces of cocaine on it?

COCAINE??!?!

why would you want to subject america's youth to that filth? are you trying to get them high so they'll be more willing to "visit" you in that shithole apartment?

you fucking pedophile.

So?  It's in such a miniscule amount that it causes no harm.  Kind of like other substances that people moan about.
