Sieg67
Get rid of your plastic shit and switch to glass. They last forever, they're easy to clean and you can cook in it them. Do it now. Edited January 30, 2021 by Sieg67

katt_goddess
Yeah, I'm not freezing beef stew or chicken-in-the-pot in glass jars. I'll stick with the plastic squares and reuse them until they are dead and then recycle them. It also means that if someone needs something, I have the option of handing over something that I don't need or expect back. I do like buying tea and herbs in bulk and storing it in cool looking glass or ceramic jars though.

Pyrex is completely safe to freeze, however. Edited January 31, 2021 by Sieg67

Chapinator_X
Ever since I moved out, I switched over to glass Tupperware. Cleanup is definitely a lot easier and they hold up much better without getting warped.
Sieg67
The warping thing is why I never liked plastic. It works fine a couple of times and then the lid never wants to go on right. Also you can wash them for 10 hours straight and they'd still look like shit.
Skiles
For cooked foods, you could sell me. For uncooked meat that I'm sticking in the freeze for up to a month, no chance.

The stuff I make for longer term storage need to be frozen, not refrigerated because I'll make enough for several meals over the following months when I don't have the time to slow cook. The plastic works for that.
