Wow that thing looks like it is gonna escelate quickly. It even looks like Laura is going to swallow the remnants of Marco. Hope you people from Houston to New Orleans is safe. Wow, hunker down.

This is where a lot of my family is....We survived Katrina, I hear this is a joke.  My niece said Marco must have went back because he forgot his mask.  Here's hoping Laura makes the food hoarding worth it.

I hope your family does okay. Looks like it will actually keep strengthining before it hits for a few hours. It might even upgrade to a cat 3 with winds at >110 mph and even higher gusts.

laura's already up to cat 4 with sustained max wind speed of 140mph. and it still has ~12 hours to strengthen before making landfall. hold onto your butts down there.

They are doing the standard thing on Weather Channel saying people on the coast should put their ID SSN and next of kin in a Ziploc just in case. Hope your fam is okay.

Oh okay. Yeah some of these news people are way too excited about getting to see all the damage come sunrise. It makes you kinda angry but what can you do you know?

Lil' Sis is updating FB like it's her job....So everything seems fine.  I'll make a couple of calls once the sun comes up.

UPDATE: If you've never done it before, I highly recommend being in the warehouse-like part of a metal building as the rain/wind goes from "steady" to "I don't know what's on the other side of that lift door but it is PISSED."

Are you guys getting some gusts now? I'm surprised it made it that far inland.

Not yet, but they're saying gusts up to 60 MPH later tonight.

I hate Sally because of how it popped out of nowhere. I was out to celebrate a relative’s birthday when suddenly I go outside and find out theres a tropical depression over our heads. And because it turned into a tropical storm the next day, we still got slapped by the outer bands.

Louisiana’s got it worse since it’s coming to them at full force, but I wanted to rant because the weather has gotten fucked enough that now they’re starting to take form near the US. And then there’s a ton of others that keep steering around us cause I’ve been checking the NHS more frequently since Isaias.

Sally didn’t do much for us so it was more of an inconvenience. Isaias was far more troubling because it shaved close to us at a higher velocity.

Florida’s enough of a crapshoot without the hurricanes, but they do make a strong argument for moving away eventually since we’re usually on constant surveillance throughout the summer & autumn.

It’s also a season where you see telltale signs that we’d hoard up resources and be the worst on the off chance of a nation-wide crisis.

Looks like New Orleans might be dodging a bullet. At least they might not have to worry about a direct hit. This thing is jackknifing hard. Sally looks like she her sights set on Mobile.

So we've tied the record for named storms within just 15 years. That seems bad. Especially since last time, Zeta only barely squeezed in with a Dec. 30 formation. Give us a century or two and we might have to rethink our naming convention.
