First time going to starbucks, is there any special sort of etiquette to follow?

Like lingo and stuff like that? I've only been to a coffee shop twice, the second time not even buying a coffee, so I don't really know coffee lingo in general...

And where should I stand to wait for my drink, just off to the side?

Also are the drinks listed on their site available at all locations or are some of them seasonal/location based?

Frappuccinos are associated with children and fatties, at least according to the baristas. If you're an asshole, expect the barista to give you decaf or the wrong steamed milk.

I guess that's it? Starbucks is just overpriced heavily commercialized bullshit imo. When I worked at a travel plaza, I would always drink their teavana tea. I would get it for free; there's ni way I'd have ever paid for it.

Order whatever you like and leave...?

And yeah usually all the drinks listed are available at most locations.

And you can modify it to however you want it.

Also, if you go for iced anything, ask for light ice.

Just don't do this:

Ordering plain coffee or tea is easy, but when it comes to their expensive fancy drinks, that's where some people want to specify how they want it made. For the most part, it's specifics like what the sweetener is, what kind of milk to use, shots of flavored syrups, stuff like that. It's something people commit to, but there's no need when I'm just feeling like black coffee or tea whenever I go to Starbucks. They probably appreciate not having such a long order to make too.

I dunno, I hate coffee

I've only been there once because my friend's wife was pregnant and wanted some kind of strange caffeinated beverage and she wanted whip cream blended into it and on top.

She then lectured me about how iced coffee was completely different from normal coffee and urged me to take a sip of her drink for a solid 10 mins

I finally took a sip and feigned that it didn't taste like coffee just to get her to leave me alone

For the lingo, you just gotta remember they come in Tall, Grande, and Venti. Venti is a waste of money if you aren't too sure about how much you'll like what you picked out. After you pay at the register, you go down to the other end where's there's a rounded counter where drinks come out. The drinks on the site are usually what's in store unless you see something related to a holiday like Christmas designs on the cup shown in the drink pics.
