JeNewBee
Looks like something Ben Affleck would star in but no it's Matt Damon I feel like they take roles based on bets Like who ever wins gets the good movie and who ever loses has to star in The Wall

pail
You know its based on a true story right? Unfortunately. Visiting the Wikipedia page for this movie leads to a lot of boring research into Chinese folklore and legend.

StarPanda
those big budget foreign movies usually get bad reviews because the foreign cast cant act and the plot and delivery isnt that great, but they do have some awesome action scenes so ill be watching it on netflix or vudu
Ric
No! There really is a Great Wall of China! And in Hollywood thats all you need to say that its based on a true story. Oh, it's about the Great Wall of China? I thought it was about Trump's wall, not going to see it now.
Ginguy
So, Hollywood made a movie about a person who built a great wall, and it was so great, so great, to keep out hostile foreigners? Say it ain't so.
pail
There's probably something in it about humans being the bad guys for invading their territory or something. Unfortunately Paul Verhoeven isn't at the helm. Dynasty Troopers would be worth a watch.

tsar4
Maybe his pocket change was getting low. Or maybe he's taking the Michael Caine attitude. Caine was in a number of Box Office flops in the 80's (ever see "The Island"?), when asked about it he said something like, "I'm an actor, my job is to act. Doesn't matter whether the script is good." I think there may have been something about every part giving him a chance to "hone his craft" too. enad
Well, it got panned... hard. So, probably best to stay away. Everyone writing think pieces in the US is under the assumption that it's another white savior movie, but I guess it actually paints Western individualism as selfish and inferior to the Chinese sense of community and teamwork. It is financed by the Chinese government, and as Trump continues his gootch sweat reign of derp you can probably expect a lot more movies like it, as China attempts to swipe cultural hegemony away from the US during this period of instability.
